General Suggestions/Questions

o You focus your Power on calming thoughts and stop fighting. If calm spell doesn't calm caster why does the message say it does.

Ok, this one is tricky. You do stop fighting momentarily, but if there is anyone in the room who is fighting you, the fight will "start up again."

o When I try to make a bandage out of "a small cloth pouch", it tells me that it isn't cloth.

o Canvas sacks (from Fuzar) aren't cloth?!

The ONLY item type that the code currently recognizes a material type for is ARMOR. This is spelled out clearly in HELP MAKE BANDAGE (an ARMOR type object of material type CLOTH) and HELP MENDING (ARMOR of type CLOTH, LEATHER or FUR). There are various ways to know if you're holding an item that the game considers appropriate: APPRAISE, PREVIEW, and the IDENTIFY OBJECT spell.

o Game "time" doesn't display here...can't see ticks.

The display of game time is something that can be turned off by the builder. Not all areas will have a notion of time passing.

o There should be a config that sets whether you automatically stand up when you fall down in battle.

This is the type of automation that we've always been philsophically against. In HELP CHANGES it states, "we do not intend to ever have automapping, autolooting, aliases, or any other commands that permit players to not pay attention to the game as they play." That said, you can do that fairly easily with a trigger on a mudclient.

Sorry, but the redeem system was never intended as a way to hand out in-game advantages.

o Wondering if there could be Torches ... Lamps ... ect that might be bought somewhere to increasde the inside lighting.

This is on our todo list. But currently to light a lamp, you must use it and removing it will turn it off again.

o It would be handy to have a list of character names that are already used, available over the web. It's frustrating inventing character names that work for me, and finding one after the other that they're all archived or locked.

We do need to get the monthly purges going again to free up the unused names.

o A 'jimmy' skill, to jimmy open chests or doors or anything in your way, you could get a crowbar as a jimmy tool.

This sounds like a combination of the PICK LOCK and DISARM TRAP skills.

o How about daily reboots? I mean every other mud I've played does it, there must be some reason... :P

Some general reasons for daily reboots include: wiping characters and/or equipment to keep people from getting too unbalanced compared to each other and trying to minimize the effects of an out of control memory leak. Reboots and crashes are disruptive. If you're trying to build more of an immersive world, then the more disruptions and times you pull people out of it, the less likely you're going to achieve your goal.

Our weekly updates give everyone, both immorts and players, a reasonable expectation of when things will change.

o I think donation boxes ruin the market for EQ. You should consider getting rid of them, or not having them so frequently in every INN.

They don't exist in every inn. It's up to the builder. Also, you shouldn't rely on one source for income.
