Asking about Changes in Quests?

Embeth says, 'I have a question about a quest in your area. I've been doing it the same way for over two years, and now it doesn't work. Have you changed it?'

Embeth says, 'or is it buggy?'

LadyAce says, 'well, I think I need more details to respond :)'

Embeth says, 'it's the falcon quest'

LadyAce says, 'I can look at it with you later, that might be easiest'

Embeth says, 'and on a related note ...'

Embeth says, 'when i asked on chat if there'd been a change to the falcon quest'

Embeth says, 'I was told I was giving too much info.'

Kaige says, 'basically it's a matter of HOW you ask, I think.'

Embeth says, 'How am I supposed to ask on chat for help with a quest if one word on it is too much info?'

Spite says to Embeth, 'yer not'

LadyAce says, 'if you say 'the part where you take the potatoes to Jimbob' .... that's out'

Xena says to Kaige, 'i think all she said was was the falcon quest changed'

Embeth says, 'I think I also asked if anyone knew if the syntax had been changed?'

LadyAce says, 'it's important to ask as vaguely as you can'

LadyAce says, 'you can generally give the name of the quest.'

Embeth says, 'and I was told on chat by an invis imm that some people might not have known if there was a falcon quest ... which was silly cos Stick was online, and all you have to do is whois him.'

LadyAce says, 'there's info about them given in the whoises'

Spite says to Embeth, 'thats the trick, you whois people if they done the quest, ask them about it'

Embeth says, 'well, the whois has more info on the quest than I had said on chat.'

Isam says, 'yes, the whois is public info right, and since the quest gives a whois, anyone can find out if it exists.'

Tobias says, 'How come the changes to AT were made that make the assassins stick around? Any real reason, or just to be eeeevil ^_~?'

LadyAce says, 'Cuz scattering them was too easy of a way out'

LadyAce says, 'the last time I checked, the mobs were ok spec'wise. Kaige put in some new tools that will let me check a few things, so I'll probably do that the next time I revise.'

Embeth says, 'half my 28 levels are from Crusades. And all my align. But at higher levels it's not as good for me as at lower levels.'

Judah says, 'I dont get much xp in crusades...'

Korgan says, 'for lvl 50 its ok xp'

Tobias says, 'Its great for mid-level mages with evil thoughts.'

Spite says, 'I can level a character from 10th to 40th in crusades without breaking a sweat, it kinda negates the need for other more dangerous xp areas'

Freeman says, 'how is the mud server move coming along? will there be another scheduled downtime'

LadyAce says, 'Ameritech claims they'll set up my service on Saturday, April 13th, between 11 and 2.'

LadyAce says, 'if that happens, there'll be a downtime after that while the necessary driving takes place'

Freeman says, 'i wrote an area proposal but it took me so long that i am afraid to immort'

Ea! says, 'building areas takes a long time. But it gets easier as you do it.'

LadyAce says, 'imm work does take some serious time...'

LadyAce says, 'we're taking apps again in what, August?'

Freeman says, 'it took 3times as much time as i expected'

LadyAce says, 'no, Sept 1.'

Kaige says, 'there's a LOT that goes into making an area. We'll be accepting apps again Sept 1st.'

LadyAce says, 'the proposals do take a lot of time, but the work that goes into them is beneficial for the area'

Freeman says, 'nah, i figure even if i get accepted, it will take me literally years to finish an actual working area'

Kaige nods her agreement with LadyAce.

LadyAce says, 'well, you might find that we can help you optimize your processes'

LadyAce says, 'what in particular took you so long?'

Freeman says, 'figuring out interesting quests'

Freeman says, 'writing is ok, a basic map is ok, but boring, items stats I didnt' even bother...'

LadyAce says, 'if you put in enough time on a regular basis, it's not bad. It's when you spend time in irregular bursts that the process can kick your ass, imho'

Ea! says, 'Also, for things like coming up with quest ideas, talking about the area with other imms is really useful.'

Kaige says, 'yeah, short things are ok that way. but if it's a long item, then I tend to forget what I was doing.'

Changes to Bind Spell?

Mysanthrope says, 'i was wondering what was the changes to the cause mage bind spell, ea said something about it on the welcome board'
