Balm & Root?

Celandine says, 'how does balm and root? like I have a low mind balm so it slows down my rooting.. shouldn't they work together?'

Celandine says, 'is that buggy or should it be like that'

Kaige pokes Ea! in the ribs.

Ea! says, 'Balm doesn't work if you're rooting.'

Celandine says, 'well it should!'

Ea! says, 'If they both took affect, it'd be way too powerful.'

Celandine chuckles politely.

Celandine nods her agreement with Ea!.

Kaige says to Ea!, 'that's what I thought, but couldn't remember exactly off the top of my head'

Engraving and "Metal" Objects?

Adamar points at a garnet ring.

Adamar says, 'how come I can't engrave this thing, isn't it metal?'

Kaige says, 'only ARMOR item types can be set to "METAL", that one's currently MISC item type so it wouldn't be recognized as metal'

Adamar nods solemnly.

Kaige says, 'it's similar to the REPAIR rules... only ARMOR and WEAPONs'

Adamar says, 'but i have seen other rings engraved....do you think you might update this to engravable?'

Kaige says, 'but I'm not sure why that ring isn't metal,... drop a note on idea about it'

LadyAce says, 'it's up to the builder if they want to change it, ultimately -- it seems like a reasonable enough request, though.'

Kaige nods her agreement with LadyAce.

Know/Identify Spell?

Adamar says, 'the "know" spell -- cast on an item'

Adamar says, 'you get a picture of an animal or some other image'

Adamar says, 'what do those images mean if anything'

Kaige nods solemnly.

Adamar is completely boggled.

Kaige says, 'each one is tied to an ability.'

Adamar says, 'so it is suppose to mean something..just seems like imm on drugs at first'

Kaige says, 'and I think that's about as much as I can say. Practice with it, you should be able to line them up eventually.'

Adamar nods his agreement with Kaige.

Lag from Runs & MCCP?

Celandine says, 'Anyone ask about hit lag?'

Celandine giggles.

Adamar splashes water all over a box of Instant Lag - Just add water!.

Ea! says to Celandine, 'Do you want to go into more detail? I'm not sure quite what you're talking about.'

Celandine says to Ea!, 'It's really laggy right now when SL is being led, usually it's not too much of a problem'

Celandine says to Ea!, 'any big runs massivly lag the mud'

LadyAce says, 'the SL-leading thing is a bandwidth problem, perhaps.'

Ea! says, 'that's almost definitly network lag...'

Celandine says, 'So it's just temporary?'

Ea! says, 'There's a lag problem we know about when people get/drop in housing or from a corpse...'

Ea! says, 'That one will be fixed next week.'

Celandine shakes her head in disagreement with LadyAce.

Celandine nods her agreement with Ea!.

LadyAce says, 'using MCCP will help with the SL lag, but that's about it.'

LadyAce says, 'using brief, not being spammy, that sort of thing.'

LadyAce says, 'the amount of bandwidth we have is the most we could get.'

Celandine says, 'How come it's bad now and hasn't been a problem before?'

Kaige says, 'especially the people going ON SL'

Lilly says to LadyAce, 'still give out random tokens for those of us helping with the lag??'

Lilly snickers softly.

Kaige says, 'it was bad before too.'

Kae faints at the idea of not using brief.

Ea! says, 'Right now we don't even have 50% of people online using MCCP.'

Celandine nods solemnly.

Kae writes those awfully spammy descriptions to be read.

Kaige is!

LadyAce says, 'well, there's also the vagaries of the net -- this very minute, we're not using up all that much bandwidth'

Sigrid thinks its awfully spammy descriptions to be not read.

Celandine nods her agreement with LadyAce.

LadyAce says, 'one a giant SL run, if you're not reading the descs, don't have 'em be sent to you :)'

LadyAce says, 'that's different than never reading them!'

Kae says, 'true, dat :)'

Kaige says, 'the fight spam alone is overwhelming tho'

Kaige says, 'compared to that room descs are minor'

Celandine nods solemnly.

Kae says, 'five hitters, 3-4 healers, 2-4 leeches, spammy? Naaaah'

Kaige says, 'but I can see fighttype none being kinda counterproductive'

Kaige giggles.

Kae says to Kaige, 'that's pretty much not doable'

Adamar says, 'compact is the only way to go'

Kae says to Kaige, 'if anything, we'd need a fight type supercompact which just tells you what damage you do and what they do'

You hit. Ow. They hit you back. Ow ow.

Sigrid says, 'although fighttype none for everybody on a run might be more challenging'

LadyAce giggles.

Kaige wasn't seriously suggesting it.

Celandine laughs with amusement.

Adamar grins evilly.

Celandine says, 'how many ows is how much they hurt'

Kae giggles.

Adamar says, 'at least you won't have people screaming RIP every other round'

Sigrid grins evilly.

Kae ponders the number of ows on Midir.

LadyAce giggles at Adamar.

Sigrid would be spamming with ows then.

Celandine shivers uncomfortably.

Kaige says, 'it definitely makes it harder to be a leech and live when you don't know you're getting hit!'

Kaige giggles.

Celandine says, 'spammed just from ows'

Celandine laughs with amusement.

LadyAce says, 'We should go back to pushing MCCP again. People were doing it more when we reminded them more.'

Sigrid says, 'well if you're a smart leech, (i know most leeches aren't), you'd notice your hp dropping'

Adamar says, 'yeah give people who use mccp coupons and tokens'

LadyAce says, 'it happens sometimes.'

LadyAce smiles at Adamar.

Adamar whimpers softly.

Kaige says to Sigrid, 'I was talking from experience'

XP Game is Still Offered

LadyAce says, 'One question we've gotten off and on recently is about the XP game -- we're still doing it alright, I started someone on it just this week.'

LadyAce says, 'So if you're looking for something to try that you haven't, that's the place :)'

Remembering Questions for Q&A

LadyAce says, 'and this brings up another topic -- if you think of a question that you want to see addressed in Q & A but aren't sure you'll remember it that long or can't make it, you can always ask it on idea/bug/typo.'

LadyAce says, 'the xp game question comes out of that'

Sigrid says, 'oh, that'll be useful'

LadyAce says, 'if you say it's for Q & A, of course, that'll be even easier for us, but I'm also tagging stuff that comes in the usual way'

Kaige says, 'I still think it'd be clearer to people in general and me when I'm sorting if it were in a separate channel like that,... say a q&a one instead'

Kaige shrugs philosophically.

RP Coupons?

LadyAce says, 'another one that's showed up for me -- RP coupons.'

LadyAce says, 'they're still in and available to be used. But I don't think they've gotten a lot of use as of late.'

Weak/Missing HELP Files?

LadyAce says, 'any other questions that you guys have? :) Otherwise, I'm going to start asking YOU questions, since you're here and stuff.'

LadyAce says, 'Like, what do you really wish we had a helpfile on? What's the worst helpfile ever? The hardest thing to figure out and the helpfiles are no help? :)'

Sigrid says, 'uhm'

Gamble-on-Mob-Fight Events?

LadyAce says, 'Or, ok, how about this :) since that wasn't compelling. People keep telling me they want to have a gamble-on-mob-fights event. Any ideas about how that might be fun? I'm trying to figure it out :)'

LadyAce says, 'I guess that calls it :)'
