Weather and Control Weather

Tobias says, 'I wasn't here for Q/A when that one lightning spell went in, so this may have been answered, but...'

Tobias says, 'Are there natural zones where chain lightning functions? Like, say, a storm in pisles or such?'

Ea! says, 'If it is naturally stormy out, you can use it.'

LadyAce says, 'well, you'll have a better luck getting lighning when there's already some to be had'

Kae says to Tobias, 'unless you mean like in certain rooms such as Sailing into a Storm'

Tobias says, 'I meant more like the stormy areas on the sea. I don't really remember any land storms.'

LadyAce says, 'it's not really "this area has it, this one doesn't" -- it's based on the weather, which is set by the builder and rotates'

Tobias says, 'Unless there's been updates to weather or something?'

LadyAce says, 'there's a big new weather system'

LadyAce says, 'it went in with the mud birthday'

Tobias says, 'cool!'

Kae says, 'but yes, some specific locations should probably be customized with a more permanent state of storminess'

Kaige says, 'you don't get the same weather everyone at once any more.. it's broken up by where you can hear yells'

Tobias says, 'good. Because it sure rained a lot ^_~'

LadyAce says, 'if it's never (whatever) in an area, mention it on idea as a suggestion to the builder'

LadyAce says, 'many areas are still using a more default set of weather'

LadyAce says, 'so pointing out where it's particularly inconsistent will be helpful'

Flay nods his agreement with LadyAce.

LadyAce says, 'but we've put an end to simultaneous weather, which is the key'

Kae says, 'no more summer rain in the Mediterranean!'

Tobias says, 'Spiffy. So now it pays to pay attention. Is there a way to check the current weather?'

LadyAce says, ''weather''

Kae says, 'the weather command? :)'

Tobias says, 'Ah, 'weather' command. Heh ^_~'

LadyAce winks suggestively at Tobias.

Walls and Detect Illusion

Flay says, 'how is the change to the wall spells going to work ? with detect ill and such, re the mages that cast the wall going to not beable to get round them or is there going to be a greaer 3rd circle detect ill spell go in ?'

Sandra says, 'I'm not quite sure what you're saying, but each wall has it's own susceptability. No need for a greater detect illusion spell'

LadyAce says to Flay, 'does that cover what you're asking?'

Flay says to Sandra, 'on legend birthday there was a update with control weather updates and such that said that wall of stone and someother be susceptable to Detech ill '

Flay says, 'would nolonger be susceptable to Detect ill even'

Ea! says, 'Each one of the wall spells has it's own way past it -- detect illusion does not let you past all three right now.'

Ea! says, 'That doesn't mean that one of the wall spells isn't bypassed by detect illusion.'

Dae says, 'since they are all illusions, does being blind let you walk through them all?'

LadyAce says, 'If you play around with the walls, you can figure out how to get around them, just explore and experiment'

Kaige giggles at Dae.

Dae says, 'heh'

Jenna says, '"You walk into something you can't see and isn't really there. THUD!"'

Kaige says, 'I like it...'

Tobias says to Dae, 'I'd like that ^_~'

Kaige looks up into the sky and ponders.

Kae does that every other week. Really.

LadyAce says, 'they don't need to be susceptible to det ill'

Dae says, 'it's true'

LadyAce giggles.

Dae says, 'if your blind, you won't see illusions'

Dae says, 'so dops couldn't attack you, flaming swords etc'

Ea! says, 'I like the idea that they're illusionary to more than one sense -- they create an illusiary sense of feeling, sound, etc.'

Dae says, 'just a random thought that entered my brain'

Kae says, 'your... right.'

Flay says, 'i guess tha covers that then thankies'

LadyAce smiles at Flay.

Flay smiles happily.

New Areas?

Flay says, 'when can we hope to see a new area or two put in, osrta hanging out for something new =P'

Sandra says, 'we're working on it =) No ETA on any yet though'

Flay ponders Kae's existence.

Straussy says, 'I've been working on Titanic getting the basics in'

Tobias says, 'if we send Kae cookies...'

Dae says, 'we gotta mail kae some strong coffee so she never sleeps and works on inferno forever'

Kaige just made one of her expansions take MUCH longer.

Kaige scuffles her feet around in the dirt.

Sandra says, 'then she'll be too busy eating cookies to build!'

Straussy says, 'i have a good pace going but thats really all I can say at this point'

Kae says to Flay, 'don't even ask, I spend approximately six hours a day on builder work :)'

You do a slow fade as Tobias whines at Kaige, hoping he won't get to you too.

Kaige says, 'I deleted half of what i had done by accident.'

Bart says, 'and I'm working on new ways to kill you all.... err, I mean... challenge some of you'

Kaige pouts.

Flay says to Bart, 'its say in the builder thing that the goal is not to kill the players'

Kaige says to LadyAce, 'only the half that was saved was'

Dae says, 'that changed when they hired sandra'

Kaige says, 'but at least it was the easier part (all the acts) and not the descs that was lost'

Non-proficiency Weapons?

Tobias says, 'How good can non-profiency weapons be compared to ones that use proficiency? Can they fight on the same level?'

LadyAce says, 'IMHO they're only really useful in special cases'

Dae says to Tobias, 'like Q5?'

Tobias says, 'Yeah, Q5 with some kinda benefit.'

LadyAce says, 'they're not likely to be equivalent to ones that takes stats and skills to use well'

Tobias says, 'But no proficiency.'

Tobias says, 'So you could use someone without fight skills but still fight decently, though not as spiffy as someone with arms training etc.'

LadyAce says, 'something like that ... depending on your definition of decently'

Kaige says to LadyAce, 'and the situation'

Kaige nods solemnly.

LadyAce says, 'yea, some particular beast might be really susceptible to freeze or whatnot'

Tobias says, 'Well, I haven't seen too many Q5 nonproficiency weapons. I remember one.'

Tobias was pondering if a character could be made that fights without getting the training.

LadyAce says, 'might be a bit of a trick to be as good as someone who spent pracs'

LadyAce shrugs helplessly.

Jenna nods solemnly.

Tobias says to LadyAce, 'Can't really think of a reason to do it right now, anyways.'

Tobias says to LadyAce, 'Maybe when there's more crazy weird skills available.'

LadyAce says, 'lotsa hit/dam, lotsa immunities'

LadyAce shrugs helplessly.

Krynn says, 'lots of suscepts too'

Krynn drools contentedly.

LadyAce says, 'maybe if you had a lotta hp and could just gum them to death'

Tobias laughs with amusement.

Darla says, 'and shoot, of course'

More Second Attack Objects?

Tobias says, 'Are gloves and held the only areas that we'll ever see extra attacks on, or is it just up to the builder?'

Dae says, 'I'd like to see a head mounted laser beam'

Sandra says, 'it's a builder thing'

Dae says, 'you could imp that in hell'

Jenna says, 'there's flaming shroud, etc'

Sandra ponders Dae's existence.

Bart says to Dae, 'and how would that fit into Legend?'

Tobias says, 'I was thinking meanie steel-toed boots and the like ^_~'

Darla says, 'spiked boots would make sense'

Krynn says, 'flaming shroud, flaming shield, but they're not useful really'

Tobias says, 'I think flaming shroud and shield are pretty cool.'

New Sex Change Mob?

Flay says, 'and we needd a sex change mob i still have chars STUCK as female from when HOL got pulled'

Flay sighs at himself. What a sorry sight.

Darla says to Flay, 'and just what is wrong with being female?'

LadyAce giggles at Darla.

Krynn looks up into the sky and ponders.

Sandra says, 'I seriously doubt there'll be another mob that changes the sex of chars again'

Flay says to Darla, 'darkness was male, i had alittle pay with sex change guy then the next day he was gone *shudder* *wince darkness*'

Ideas & Area Maintainers

Gottfried says, 'actually, I have a question about Casablanca and North Africa -- Breton is working on an update, but other people are listed as maintainers... whom do I spam with ideas and requests?'

Sandra says, 'the idea channel =P'

LadyAce says, 'use idea...'

LadyAce says, 'that kinda stuff should go to the channel so that it's recorded the right way'

Gottfried says, 'I'd think idea was for more short messages than half a chapter of a book which was what Breton said to send him last time :p'

Kaige nods her agreement with LadyAce.

Gottfried suggests, never underestimate the power of geeks.

LadyAce says, 'might be better to work that out with head builder then.'

Sandra says, 'since Breton is the one doing an update, he'd be the one to send half-chapters to. While maintenance authors lists others, it only does so because they've contributed to that area'

Kaige says to Gottfried, 'nafrica stuff directly to breton if you have a contact for him'

Gottfried says, 'allright!'

Sandra says, 'in general though, idea is the best place to put things'

Kaige says, 'at least sizeable stuff like that'

LadyAce says, 'get her to tell you who it goes to'

Kaige says, 'The person listed first in the list for areainfo or as Maintainer when you just type areainfo is the person to contact for things longer than feed back channels are comfortable for.

Gottfried wanders off to look for Breton and the Afrika Korps. *wink*

Kaige says, 'small stuff that fits in 3-12 lines.. idea'

LadyAce says, 'guess we'll close up shop then'
