AgentNitz says, 'once someone gets immified, they can't play as morts anymore w/ that char, right?'

LadyAce says, 'correct.'

Kaige says, 'immortal chars can't interact with the game in the same way any more.'

AgentNitz says, 'lets say i get appointed to an imm position (god forbid), could I choose one of my alts to be immified, thus letting me play as a mort?'

Hannah says, 'I also have a question about area proposals. Would something like Vikings and their trading routes through Russia be frowned upon or no?'

Sandra says, 'I'd need something more specific. We'll talk after the q&a'

LadyAce says, 'you might want to conceive of it as russia with a link/expansion to the existing viking...'

Kaige says, 'the most important thing to remember with area proposal si the story you want to tell and what there is for players to do there, and to do again and again and again...'

Level Requirement to Apply?

McDougan says, 'My shecond character, who I want to immort, is only forty-three. I may be able tae level him over nexxt week, but should I send my proposal?'

LadyAce says, 'we won't consider the app if he's not 45'

Kaige says, 'the character you are applying with must be level 45+'

McDougan says, 'I thocht straussy just said that didn't apply?'

Sandra says, 'well, you just heard from the heads that it does ;)'

Kaige says, 'and in the docs that we point you to as well it also says character applying with must be 45+'

LadyAce says, 'we need imms to have some comfort in all areas of the game'

LadyAce says, 'you'll be designing an area for enjoyment of gamers, rpers, explorers, socializers...all types'

LadyAce says, 'so you need to adopt and understand all these areas of the game, embracing all of them'

Adamar says, 'i am not sure if i ran out of mana or just plain failed'

Kaige says, 'if you successfully chant the words it' counts for cast level'

Straussy nods solemnly.

Adamar says, 'i understand the control should be controlled in small steps, but is there a limit to the amount you can control'

Ea! says, 'yes.'

Adamar says, 'like i cant' make it snow in agrabah or is it just a mana issue?'

Ea! says, 'There's a bunch of limits...'

Kaige says, 'you just plain can't make it snow in Arabia.'

Adamar says, 'because i have problems casting storms or snow in some areas'

Kaige says, 'or rain'

LadyAce says, 'the builders put what you can make happen where'

Straussy says, 'you can control the weather with what weather you are provided with from that area'

Kaige says, 'you can call a sandstorm which should suit your needs there tho.'

Kaige nods her agreement with Straussy.

Adamar says, 'do the weathers make a difference in the way mobs act? will they run from a sandstorm?'

Ea! says, 'That's what the 3rd paragraph in the help is refering to...'

LadyAce says, 'I think we'll have more mobs-reacting-to-weather as time goes on'

LadyAce says, 'as it is we were really working to get it in :)'

Adamar says, 'or that would be a builder issue?'

Izikiel says, 'cool I was just wondering what that spell did'

Kaige says, 'once we get to specially coding all that in, yes, more mobs will react to the weather around them'

Straussy says to Adamar, 'its up to the builders for mob reactions to weather'

Kaige says, 'if you have ideas for how mobs in general or specific should react, idea it!'

Knowing Cast Levels

Hannah says, 'There isn't any way to know your castlevel other than really good memory is there?'

Ea! says, 'If there's a spellbook for it, and you study it, it'll tell you if you're maxxed out.'

Ea! says, 'Otherwise, no.'

Hannah says, 'Is there a reason for that?'

Adamar says, 'a skill that tells cast level would be really good'

Kaige says, 'basically the thinking was it was something you should have to keep track of yourself. It was one of the prices of playing a successful mage'

Adamar nods solemnly.

Adamar shrugs helplessly.

Adamar says, 'but it is hard to keep track'

Hannah says, 'then that's why I never was one'

Kaige keeps all her char info in a file for stuff like that.

Ea! nods his agreement with Kaige.

Ea! says, 'Me, too. Though I don't bother with cast levels. They're not that important...'

LadyAce says, 'might be a neat project for one of y'all...make up a 'character data sheet' to fill in on each of your chars'

Sandra nods her agreement with Ea!.

LadyAce says, 'figure out what sorts of things need tracking, make the file, distribute it out as a public service'

Ea! says, 'But to each their own -- I for one find druids are real pain to play, so I don't play them much.'
