Hitroll Changes

Boreas says, 'eek, downgraded natural hitroll!'

Boreas frowns.

Bass shrugs helplessly.

Ea! says, 'People have been complaining about how over powered dex and hitroll are for a while, so we made a small change to try to make it better.'

Dashiva says, 'small change?'

Enhander says, 'i have 80 dex but low hitroll whats up with that'

Boreas says to Ea!, 'it was overpowered, it's just that I would rather hit/dam be based more on stats and less on hit/dam gear'

Enhander nods his agreement with Boreas.

Ea! says to Boreas, 'Well, if we decide to do more balance work on it, we might go that route -- but this would make that easier, anyway, since it's now more like damroll and based only on one stat.'

Boreas nods her agreement with Ea!.

Ordering Charmies to Move

Chaykin says, 'why isn't it possible to order a charmie to move into another room?'

Kaige says to Chaykin, 'so you can't use them to block rooms that have limitted number of occupants.'

LadyAce says, 'the other thing is, rooms where only n people can go are usually that way for a reason'

LadyAce says, 'like, trying to force you to fight solo, etc.'

LadyAce says, 'so it's a way to keep that feature intact'

Enhander says, 'do you think it would be possible to get a Run channel, so insetead of clogging up chat we can as if runs on going on on another channel'

LadyAce says, 'we don't have an update for you on that right now'

Boreas says, 'yeah, I noticed that the horses in Tara no longer have horseshoe. Why was this removed?'

Kaige says, 'hasn't changed in ages.'

LadyAce says, 'they really do have horseshoes :) I've seen them!'

Kaige says, 'I specifically didn't change that this summer.'

Boreas says, 'maybe it's a bug then?'

LadyAce says, 'some people go in and just kill the one with the shoe'

LadyAce says, 'you should kill all of them for best results.'

Fear says, 'someone may be stealing them from the horse, I used to do that alot'

LadyAce says, 'It depends -- if you can't live a round against your foe, or you want to soften them up before getting the deathblow....'

Fear says, 'I had a salamander fight semirhage, it did 0 damage and lasted 2 rounds.'

LadyAce says, 'or if you want a cheap sidekick'

LadyAce shrugs helplessly.

Tobias says, 'their specials can't kill.'

Tobias says, 'Why is that?'

Chaykin says, 'if I need a cheap sidekick I'll call Tempus over'

Boreas laughs with amusement.

Ea! says, 'I'll look into it once this has been in for a little while. they shouldn't be useless in combat?'

Tobias says, 'just toss a level one elemental against a level one mob. One of them should be able to win, I'd hope.'

Extra Attack Items

Chaykin says, 'extra attack items are pretty cool, but I've noticed they only go off about half the time. They seem awfully renty, so why do they not work more often?'

LadyAce says, 'gosh, I notice mine going off all the time'

Chaykin says, 'well'

LadyAce says, 'I wonder if it's your fighttype?'

LadyAce doesn't know, just knows hers goes off like mad.

Chaykin says, 'take the clawing one for instance, maybe it's just that one, but...'

Fear says, 'extra attack, like forktongued sword?'

Boreas says, 'I tested hook, and between not going off and missing, it only hits about half the time'

Chaykin says, 'with my 100 str person, the attack doesn't happen about 50% of the time'

Chaykin says to Fear, 'like hook, nuck claws'

Fear says, 'ahh'

Sandra says, 'we don't want them to go off more, honestly. Because their damage is calculated differenty than normal weapons'

Lelldorin sits down on the ground.

LadyAce says, 'if they don't add up to being worth it for your particular char, might as well not use them. They seem really spiff when I've used them though.'

Chaykin says to Sandra, 'fair enough, but why are they so renty then? the very small extra damage--which only happens half the time--doesn't seem worth the high high rent, plus giving up a stat slot'

LadyAce says, 'it might be a char-particular thing'

LadyAce says, 'if you don't need the stat in particular, or really want to specialize in doing damage'

Sandra says, 'it's not really a "small" amount of extra damage ;) THey're renty simply because they're like another weapon'

Tobias says, 'test it with pk? ^_~'

Chaykin says, 'I'm not saying they should be made into a killer must-have item...just saying that for an item with such a high cost, the damage return should be a little more'

Chaykin shrugs philosophically.

Sandra says, 'I've seen people damcap with their normal weapon and decimate with a hook. I'd say that's alot of damage in general'

Chaykin says, 'well, the main one I experimented with was the claw. Maybe it's just that particular item'

Boreas says to Sandra, 'but that happens sooo rarely'

Fear says, 'well, str could use tweaking in general. :p'

Sandra shakes her head in disagreement with Boreas.

Boreas nods her agreement with Fear.

LadyAce says, 'I'm really happy with my nucky claws'
