O'Connell says, 'Could housing be more culturally diverse etc..... for example, something Wimsey is absolutely froathing for is a flat in London. Only type of way to get an apartment there now. Apartment is there in Pitts. No Flat in London.'
LadyAce says, 'you can put it in as an idea to the builder'
O'Connell says, 'I think that housing needs to be expanded to include those sorts of things or have an option for more cash to modify. Don't know if that's possible.'

Kaige says, 'well we've got summer oddyssey coming up here in June, July and Aug, and I'll gladly do things like that if it's in the idea files'

Black-Widow says, 'is it possible to implement sometime in the future, building your own rooms as long as they are time specific?'

LadyAce says, 'it's essentially a time where the events run by the pr dept focus on particular eras of the game, and the building dept focuses on updating things era by era'

O'Connell says, 'Could you explain now in the days of gradual stats, no spam gear etc.... if newbies will be able to see their stats before level 10? I always figure its a newbie I"m going to keep after level 5.'
LadyAce says, 'I don't think we plan to change that, no.'
O'Connell says, 'I've introduced some friends to the mud and they complain about not knowing and it taking soooo long for the first newbie to get to 10.'

LadyAce says, 'our general approach is that you don't need to know your stats before level 10'
O'Connell says, 'I've been here long enough. Too long probably but I know how to figure out what I've got.'
O'Connell says, 'sort of.'

O'Connell says, 'I think for true new folks its the toughest thing about starting Legend.'

LadyAce says, 'at those newbie levels, your stats don't really matter. Focusing on them is just a distraction'
O'Connell says, 'when I was in college I had probably 8 friends that mudded but I could only talk one into stayin' on Legend for that first character. I refuse to level them the first time around.'
LadyAce says, 'and it gives you something to look forward to as you earn your way up'
O'Connell says, 'other than if your going to create mages etc....'
Coren says, 'heh I've had two try to play here'
Coren says, 'then instead joined achaea and there money sucking ways'
O'Connell says, 'since the fail rate on some spells is pickin' high unless learned really low :P'
LadyAce says, 'I don't think it's a good idea for new players to make mages'
LadyAce says, 'at least not make mages they expect to have perfect cast levels'
Craven says, 'mages can be permanently damaged :P'

Black-Widow says to LadyAce, 'there should be a warning about that when first creating a character, maybe a help or an introduction that stats something like that'
LadyAce says, 'cast levels are way overrated by y'all anyway :P'

Kaige says, 'but one of the things I've been trying to work on in my spare time is a newbie quest type thing that can be altered suitably for each hometown that covers the basics that would be an optional type thing'

Kaige says, 'and 6th is even easier now too!!'
Craven says, 'the first 5 levels are easy if you have someone get you a weapon'
Coren says, 'if you hit some xp rooms and easy quests'

O'Connell says, 'Since we know how. I remember vorpal squirrels and the like in Tara my first character.'

Kaige says, 'well what I was thinking of was somethign that would take you on a tour of the area, show you the shops, basic stuff like that and a good show of what to kill on your own'

O'Connell says, 'Its pretty cliquish here if you dont know anyone.'

LadyAce says, 'I think new players are fun to have, but I don't think that we're the right place for just anyone'
Black-Widow says to Kaige, 'what about a mob that gives "tour" of the area, takes you to shops, suggests selling things there, warns you of "things to beware of"'
Black-Widow bites her tongue.
LadyAce says, 'It's always important to keep a good inflow of new people and ideas, but we have a chosen niche so to speak'
Kaige says, 'well then you have load one of those for each newbie doing it.. and if there's more than one it could get confusing... better to keep all the info on the player and let all the mobs in the area help him...'
Kaige says, 'the best thing to do about the cliquish thing, is to take 5 minutes and talk to new people you notice around.'
Black-Widow says to Kaige, 'what about setting it up so that it only runs at a set time per day, maybe once a month mudd time'
LadyAce says to Kaige, 'aw, they could wear a little badge that says 'help me!' :) :)'
Coren says, 'id have to be whenever someone new signed on'
O'Connell says to Kaige, 'I do that. :)'
Kaige says, 'the more you do that and the more people who take the time to do that, the less time it'll take to get the newbies into the community'

Kaige says, 'other than it runs through a completely different function and I haven't had time to duplicate it?'

Kaige says, 'a couple ideas have been tossed around to allow the GMs to maybe pick a particular info to always use from a set list... but nothing's been done on that'

LadyAce says, 'we are intentionally avoiding any kind of code which is special for one clan, or which is hardcoded for the clans in general'
