Atlas of the Unknown World The Out of Character Areas

Oh, good, I can talk normally here.

   Even the most ardent roleplayer needs a break every once in a while. The areas in Legend that are designed for OOC play offer a wide range of activities as well as even some old-fashioned hack 'n' slash action.

• The Out of Character Lounge can be reached from almost anywhere in the game by simply OOC at the prompt. While there, the normal processes of gameplay (such as healing, becoming hungry, etc) do not occur, nor can fights break out in the OOC areas. Currently the OOC Lounge offers:
  • The Wild Boar Tavern, where you can be waited on by the Beatles in a relaxing bar setting
  • Ringo's Gift Shop where you can buy greeting cards for other players, stuffed toys based on popular Legend monsters, and other items.
  • A Small Restaurant which offers seating and a comfortable atmosphere.
  • The Auditorium, where you can hold meetings, or attend lectures and other events.
  • The Piano Lounge, which serves as a private, quiet getaway.
  • The War Room is a room set aside for playerkilling-enabled characters, and houses a bulletin board devoted to clan happenings.
  • Muriel's Bridal Boutique offers items for sale for roleplay events such as in-game weddings.
  • The Games Arcade
  • The Awards Lobby houses both the Expies Room which is where the winners of past Expies awards are enshrined, and the Game Trophy Room which houses trophies from various and sundry competitions.
  • The Official LegendMUD Kitchen is home to periodic cookoffs where players trade recipes from around the world.
  • The Immortal Office Complex is where you can find offices for each of the immortal staff.

  The basic rules for the OOC Lounge are:

  • You won't be able to heal, fight, rent, steal or chant spells here.
  • You will find that the only items you will be able to give to others in these rooms are notes and the items you can buy at the flower shop.
  • Please don't come here to drop link and leave the game.
  • You can eat or drink in the tavern, but you will find it is 'faerie food and drink' and won't help your hunger or thirst in the main mud. Inside the tavern you will never get hungry or thirsty anyway.
  • Please keep the tavern clean! Put empty glasses and used notes in the trash can.
  • To leave this region, simply ask any of the Beatles 'return' and you will return to the place you came from.

• The Legends of the Past isn't exactly any one particular geographic area that is actually physically located in the main game, but instead it is comprised of legendary characters that roam the lands much as they once did. The area is designed to honor those characters as well as to preserve and bring LegendMUD's rich history to life.
