Medieval England

______

Romanticized in the movies by such dashing figures as Errol Flynn, Kevin Costner and even by a foxish animated fellow from the Disney Studios, the legendary Robin Hood has always existed to 'rob from the rich and give to the poor.' Fighting against Norman oppression of the Saxons until the rightful king, Richard the Lionhearted, returned from the crusades, Robin of Locksley, otherwise known as, Robin o' the Hood gathered a band of men together in Sherwood Forest as a rebellion against the oppressive taxes imposed by the pretender to the throne, Prince John. Poaching of the King's royal herd of deer is ill advised. The town of Lincoln is known for its fine craftsmen, both in blacksmithing and in tailoring. A specific green dye, Lincoln green, was made fashionable by Robin's band.
