'Welcome everyone =),' Sandra says.

'Looks like we'll be having a small group tonight. I'm going to ask that you forgive my slow typing today and bear with me.;),' Sandra says.

'What I'd like to do is make this fairly informal,' Sandra says,'I've got alot of ideas on how we can improve clan participation, as I'm sure that alot of you have ideas as well.'

Sandra says, 'But please lets keep socials to a minimum =).'

'First, I'm going to ask: What do you all think is the average number of members in a clan,' Sandra says.

Marcel says, '7.'

Elisa looks up into the sky and ponders.

'As many as i want =),' Bircoff says drunkenly.

'I remember it surprised me how low many were when the stats were posted,' Elisa says wistfully.

Marcel says, '2 active, 3 sometimes, and 2 who show up once a month.'

'We have 19 rp, and 8pk clans out there btw,' Sandra says.

Herbert says, quite melancholy, 'Probably somewhere around 7-9 yeah.'

'Why do you think its such a low number?' Sandra says to Marcel. 'You're correct, btw.'

'Because I'm GM of two clans in my third year and it seems to be the way it goes,' Marcel says to Sandra.

'Because so many people have divergent rps,' Elisa says wistfully. 'We don't fit easily into clans.'

Herbert nods his agreement with Elisa.

You nod solemnly.

'Partly, yea,' Sandra says.

Sandra says, 'Anyone else?'

'Whats the question?' Mitsukake says, overflowing with compassion.

'Because there is no incentive to join,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy.

Elisa says with a faraway look, 'And people don't promote their clans, so others just make new ones.'

'A clan hall hasn't got the appeal it once did,' Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness.

'Sometimes that's because there's no strong clans to plan an RP around, to join later,' Juliana says curiously to Elisa.

''Why is the average membership of a clan 7-9?', was the question,' Sandra says.

'People get bored and make alts,' LadyDagger says.

Marcel says, 'One reason is that once a clan forms, it has a distinct image -- others pick that up, and the market becomes oversated.'

'*makes excuses*,' Dolan says.

'Then people stop joining,' Marcel says.

Sandra says to Marcel, 'That's a good one.'

Marcel says to Sandra, 'At a time, there were about 25 people who wanted to be Knights Templar.'

'I'll give an example of Marcel's,' Sandra says.

'Now there are like 5,' Marcel says.

'And me!' Juliana says, looking interested.

Judah nods solemnly.

'How many clans are there that 'help others' ? =),' Sandra says.

Marcel grins evilly at Juliana.. wonder what he's thinking...

Judah raises his hand.

'I woulda said because all 9 of those members are inactive, and nobody wants to join an inactive clan..' Mitsukake says.

Herbert says, quite melancholy, 'And peoples allegiances change due to OOC arguments and IC arguments so they hop clan to whoever is their friend that week and often join clans without considering why they are doing it.'

Judah sighs loudly.

Marcel says, '5.'

Bircoff says, slurring every word, 'None.'

'It's an easy reason to make a clan,' Sandra says.

Sandra says, 'Not a bad one by any means though.'

Elisa nods her agreement with Herbert.

Sandra says to Herbert, 'Unfortunately, yes, that does happen.'

'NPH, knights of legend, knights templar, angesley, bahan sopeh, and -- wait, that's just four, sorry,' Marcel says.

Mitsukake says to Marcel, 'Dert.'

Mitsukake coughs loudly.

'Six,' Marcel says.

'Rune knights,' Elisa says wistfully.

Marcel nods solemnly.

Juliana says curiously, 'A lot of clans seem to be like "Superduper Person and his friends" ... they always say they "help each other" but I don't feel welcome in someone else's group.'

You nod solemnly.

Marcel says, 'I'm counting clans that are formed with the purpose of help, though, not 'just' on the side.'

Dean nods his agreement with Juliana.

Marcel says, 'Whether they actually help is another story.'

Juliana nods her agreement with Marcel.

'Oh, then take dert off the list ;),' Mitsukake says.

'It's definately a trend,' Sandra says.

'Do we have members of any of those clans present?' Sandra says.

Marcel raises his hand.

Judah raises his hand.

'AND its easier a lot of times to help when not clanned because then people are less worried about OWING your clan a favour or getting help from a rival clan,' Herbert says, quite melancholy.

'Ex member,' Elisa says with a faraway look.

'Rune knights was listed right?' Cipherz says, voice full of loneliness.

'I'm in Templar!' Juliana says, looking curious. 'Or I was, and I will be soon.'

'Well, member if I can speak for my alt, that is,' Marcel says.

Sandra giggles.

Mitsukake says, 'I'm an NPH with an alt too..'

'I'm a rune knight :),' Cipherz says, looking very alone.

'Ok, lemme ask those of you that were 'founding members', I know a few of you are,' Sandra says.

Judah nods solemnly.

Marcel nods solemnly.

Sandra says, 'Why did you choose that theme for your clan?'

Judah raises his hand.

Marcel raises his hand.

Herbert fears even talking about his current clans goals.

Judah says very humbly, 'Keith and I left the Rune Knights to let more people learn those types of ways.'

'And that is what we kinda based it on,' Judah says, full of humility.

Judah shrugs helplessly.

'How many people take a person's clan into account when they ask for help?' Elisa says wistfully.

Judah looks self-concious.

'I do a lot,' Herbert says, quite melancholy.

'Where did the name Bahan Sopeh come from?' Sandra says.

Mitsukake says, 'I do, but not in the way your asking i think.'

'That's a good point...people just ask for help, and people give it,' Juliana says curiously to Elisa. 'What does a clan add to that equation?'

'Bahan - Watchtower Sopeh - Watchman in Hebrew,' Judah says, full of humility.

Soze looks up into the sky and ponders.

Sandra says, 'Oh cool =).'

Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness, 'Well lets just say you are a Knight and a MERC offers to help are you going to get help from someone who you were told to kill last week?'

'For clans to actually mean anything, this is too friendly heh,' Soze says.

Judah says, full of humility, 'Not at all.. all we have in common is the word watchtower.'

'Yes,' Mitsukake says to Herbert.

Dean nods his agreement with Soze.

Sandra says to Judah, 'Lemme ask you something, then I'll stop putting you on the spot =).'

'Well that's whats wrong with clans in my humble opinion, no one counts there clan for anything,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy, to Mitsukake.

Judah says humbly, 'Ok.'

Soze says, 'Sometimes you get the feeling you need to brush someone off with an excuse if you don't really feel like helping too because else you are not "normal"'

'Why didn't you theme your clan more around its name's origin?' Sandra says to Judah. 'If that makes sense.'

'I get random people begging me for help even though I'm not in a helping clan,' Elisa says wistfully.

Mitsukake says to Herbert, 'I'm going to have to disagree, at least about the reference you used, there is such a thing as considerate enemies.'

'We are the watchers of Legend...' Judah says humbly. 'We will set aside our own needs when we see that people are in true need. We feel that we are based around the name... it is the reason that we picked it.'

'Yeah I understand that but I'm sure you know what I mean, people join a clan which is at war with another clan and yet they still bounce and flop on the members of the enemy clan, that is harldy good RP,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy, to Mitsukake.

'The more you make your clan's theme different, the harder it is to get people to join and to do the rp of it,' Elisa says wistfully to Sandra.

Herbert nods his agreement with Elisa.

Juliana says, looking curious, 'I think watchers over legend would be more like, keeping travelers from danger and evil things from happening.'

'I will always watch over others and help when I can and they need it, whether friend or foe... Right Marcel,' Judah says, full of humility.

'I dunno,' Sandra says. 'I think it depends.'

'Still, those you gain are worth it imo,' Soze says to Elisa.

'That's what I was thinking too,' Sandra says to Juliana.

'Oh yes, bahan sopeh are definitely challengers to the evil of this world, namely me and my buddies,' Marcel says to Judah.

Sandra giggles.

Judah chuckles politely.

Sandra says, 'Ok, time to put Marcel on the spot!'

Marcel gulps nervously.

Elisa snickers at Marcel nastily.

'About helping clans, i.e,' Marcel says. 'The templars in this case?'

Judah exhales a sigh of relief.

Sandra says, 'Well, sort of.'

Marcel says, 'For founding the Templars -, because the historical theme of holy knights protecting the faith and the people interests me, and because of the challenge in RP'ing anti-magic.'

'People were asking me to formalize Tancred's RP into a clan, and we did -- it's gone out of fashion since, but we're a few loyal happy oldbies sticking to it, and it'll get trendy again sometime,' Marcel says.

Marcel says, 'I can talk Circles too, but we're not a helping type of clan.'

Sandra says, 'I'm gonna pit your clans against each other.'

Marcel nods solemnly.

Marcel says, 'Fine wif me.'

Judah smiles at Marcel.

Judah nods solemnly.

Marcel says, 'Forgive me for the blatant crossplay of speaking for two characters, too :P.'

Marcel couldn't bring them both.

'What do the circles do actually?' Lelldorin says playfully. 'What do rp clans do actually? :P.'

Sandra says, 'Marcel's player is lucky enough that there is a character in a good clan, and one in an evil clan.'

Marcel nods solemnly.

Herbert raises his hand.

Herbert waits patiently.

Elisa says wistfully, 'Marcel's player is just schizophrenic.'

Elisa tickles Marcel.

'Ayup,' Marcel says.

Sandra says to Marcel, 'Can you tell me why one is more active or popular than the other?'

Mitsukake laughs with amusement.

Judah looks up into the sky and ponders.

Marcel says, 'I can say that it depends on what's trendy that year.'

Elisa says wistfully, 'Or possibly mpd.'

'Some seasons, so to say, it's been in fashion to do a historic type of RP, and then the Templars prosper,' Marcel says.

'Then it becomes hot to be villainish, and the Circles have a party,' Marcel says.

'Just as it was 'the thing' to be a vampire for a while,' Marcel says.

Herbert nods his agreement with Marcel.

'Rp!' Sandra says. 'There's the letters I was looking for.'

'Oh my god I have to say something now,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy.

Sandra giggles.

Sandra says to Herbert, 'Go ahead.'

Dashiva ponders Herbert's existence.

Cipherz smiles happily.

Judah sighs loudly.

Marcel waits patiently for Herbert to get his act in gear.

'Must be long,' Dashiva says, gibbering a little.

Herbert says, quite melancholy, 'Ok the problem with RP on this mud is people tend to confuse OOC/IC too often and you end up RP'ing to someone who cares little for what you are trying to achieve.'

Marcel says, 'That's an entirely different problem, if not a less important one.'

'On the other hand there are some EXCELLANT RP'ers around who are great fun but don't have the opportunity to gain anything for it,' Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness.

Soze raises his hand.

'It all relates though,' Herbert says, quite melancholy.

Cipherz nods his agreement with Herbert.

'Yea,' Sandra says. 'I totally agree with you btw, but I'm gonna pull this more clan specific.'

Elisa doesn't know anyone ooc ;P

'Sandra should enforce rp with threat of deletion,' Dashiva says, gibbering a little.

Dashiva says insanely, 'I bet they'd rp then!@.'

Dashiva throws his head back and cackles with insane glee!

Mitsukake whaps Dashiva across the back of the head - your ears ring in sympathy.

Kae says, 'That'd be our PR people's job :P.'

Dashiva says, gibbering a little, 'Uh oh.'

Judah crosses his arms across his chest.

Marcel inspects his fingernails. They're clinically clean.

'It's not so hard to find people who want to play and avoid ones that don't,' Juliana says, looking interested. 'Few people confuse my chars with my real person.'

'What about gm's enforcing rp?' Elisa says wistfully. 'I've thought about doing that, but I'm afraid I'd lose too many members.'

'Sandra's lesson #1:' Sandra says.

'If your rp is known, and it is a) liked, b) somewhat controversial, you are then a popular member of the community,' Sandra says. 'If you have a clan, your clan is then active, because of this.'

Marcel says to Elisa, 'I do that, sort of.'

'People might respect you more if you did, and you might draw more committed RP types,' Juliana says, looking curious, to Elisa.

Grunt nods his agreement with Sandra.

'I build RPs around a clan to join with the char, I wouldn't do that if I couldn't trust the GM or clan,' Juliana says curiously to Elisa.

Elisa says with a faraway look, 'I fear that the pool of committed rp'ers is too low.'

Soze says, 'There's a problem with that, if enforcing RP, it's kinda hard dispelling them without RP, which makes it hard one some types.'

Judah nods solemnly.

Grunt nods solemnly.

Sandra says, 'Let me back up just a sec, coz my husband called and interupted my train of thought ;).'

Marcel says to Soze, 'No, it's extremely easy to expel someone who just sits whining about eq on the clan channel, actually.'

Dashiva snickers at Marcel nastily.

LadyDagger giggles at Marcel.

Dashiva says, looking crazed, to Marcel, 'I'll remember that.'

'I'm going to use a sort of strange example,' Sandra says.

Soze says to Marcel, 'Ah, that's another story than lack of RP.'

Dashiva goes EEK! in distress.

'Not everyone has a loud and much seen RP, but if they just sit there and gripe, off they go,' Marcel says.

Dashiva says, looking crazed, 'Wrong lady.'

Sandra says, 'But you will see my point.'

Sandra says, 'Everyone remembers the Dark Enforcers, I'm sure.'

Marcel nods solemnly.

Herbert nods solemnly.

Soze says to Marcel, 'Someone who is active but not RP'ing would be hard for some types to expell.'

Dashiva raises his hand.

Judah nods his agreement with Sandra.

Dashiva was a dark enforcer.

Elisa says wistfully, 'With distaste, yes.'

Dashiva throws his head back and cackles with insane glee!

Dashiva says, gibbering a little, 'No not a old one tho =(.'

Mitsukake bonks Elisa on the head!

'I wish aginor and ronnie were still here,' Dashiva says, gibbering a little.

'When their rp was a strong one, so was the clan, correct?' Sandra says.

Dashiva bursts into tears.

'Yes,' Marcel says.

Judah nods solemnly.

Herbert snickers softly.

Mitsukake says to Sandra, 'It also helped when they had barabas crushing bones for them ;).'

Dashiva throws his head back and cackles with insane glee!

Dashiva nods solemnly.

'When it fell, again, so did the clan,' Sandra says. 'The two are tied rather well.'

'Many people 'copy' other people's RP basics,' Marcel says. 'It's not a bad thing.'

'It's called getting inspired :),' Marcel says.

Herbert nods his agreement with Marcel.

Mitsukake nods his agreement with Marcel.

'It was even before though,' Sandra says to Mitsukake. 'But Barabas rp'd consistently.'

Mitsukake says, 'I agree, marcel, stop ripping off aginor.'

Mitsukake ducks to the ground.

Dashiva says insanely, 'Anti-paladins.'

'They were cool,' Dashiva says, looking crazed.

Soze says to Marcel, 'There's a huge gap between being inspired and being copied.'

Judah nods solemnly.

Marcel honestly doesn't see himself as being an Aginor rip-off.

Sandra says, 'What I see lately is a fear in clans.'

Grunt nods his agreement with Soze.

Soze licks Grunt.

Dashiva says, looking crazed, 'Fear?'

Grunt raises an eyebrow inquiringly.

Elisa says wistfully, 'People are afraid to rp?'

'Not many people are willing to take much risk in their clan's rp,' Sandra says. 'The result is the number of clans that basically do the same thing.'

Judah nods solemnly.

Grunt raises his hand.

Soze points at Grunt.

'People are often worried about getting accused of harassment, at least when playing so-called evil characters,' Marcel says.

Judah chuckles politely at Marcel's feeble witticism.

'I'll comment on that in just a sec,' Sandra says to Marcel.

Judah nods solemnly.

LadyDagger says to Marcel, 'So when do you know if it is RP or harrassment?'

Marcel has a few comments too, when Sandra gets there.

Elisa says wistfully to Marcel, 'Because harassers gravitate toward evil chars.'

Grunt grunts, unsure of the topic, 'Me just agreeing no afraid take chances but smashum no evil either.'

Dashiva says, looking crazed, 'Heh when they said clan building I thought they ment building a clan hall.'

Dashiva snickers softly.

'It's RP unless they attack your rl player ;),' Mitsukake says to Marcel.

Sandra giggles.

Sandra says to Grunt, 'Ok =).'

'There is a simple solution to percieved harrassment,' Sandra says.

Sandra says, 'Everyone listen up, coz it's a rule I play by.'

Dashiva nods his agreement with Sandra.

Herbert waits patiently.

Sandra says, 'Everything is IC, until it's made known otherwise.'

Herbert nods solemnly.

Judah nods solemnly.

Dashiva smiles happily.

Marcel says, 'Ayup.'

'It's not a difficult concept,' Sandra says. 'And it would get rid of a LOT of the fear.'

'This means I can hunt you all night long and scream RP the whole way,' Dashiva says, gibbering a little, to Marcel.

Soze nods solemnly.

Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness, 'Thats why I have OSAY, OCHAT, OTELL commands.'

'And I can kill you every time you do and call it pest control,' Marcel says to Dashiva.

LadyDagger says, 'So if a char follows another and makes it almost impossible to enjoy playing your char it is RP?'

'There's nothing more fun than taking someone's OOC comment as IC and RP them into RPing back,' Juliana says, looking curious.

Dashiva cackles gleefully at Marcel - whatever he's going to do to him, glad it's not you!

Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness, '(ooc) - which work nicely.'

'It's never RP without your consent,' Juliana says, looking interested, to LadyDagger.

Soze says, 'Basically I could care less what others think, if they hate my guts with one char, and love me with another, all it says to me is that I'm doing alright at RP.'

'And there is no fun whatsoever in suddenly being yelled at and accused of ruining someone's real life or whatever, so people need to yell stop please, too,' Marcel says.

Judah nods his agreement with Herbert.

Juliana says, looking interested, 'And people need to not mind too much if someone yells stop, either.'

Judah nods his agreement with Marcel.

Sandra says, 'I'm going to talk about something that I'm guessing most, if not all of you don't know about.'

LadyDagger says, 'That is part of the problem you ask someone to stop.'

'And they don't,' LadyDagger says.

Marcel's been accused of harassment twice this week, bear with him if he's touchy about it.

Dashiva lurks around Marcel ominously - glad he's not after you!

Juliana says, looking interested, to LadyDagger, 'Then it's harassment.'

Judah comforts Marcel.

Sandra says, 'Does anyone remember Agrippa?'

Marcel says, 'Yes.'

'Yupyupyup,' Juliana says, looking interested.

Elisa shakes her head.

Herbert shakes his head.

Dashiva says insanely to Marcel, 'Well of course you do oldy.'

Sandra says, 'Ok, let me explain Agrippa to you that don't then.'

Marcel says to Dashiva, 'Nah, I was level 3 when he quit.'

Dashiva says, gibbering a little, 'Eek.'

'How old are you?' Dean says to Marcel.

'On the mud?' Marcel says to Dean. 'Four years.'

Marcel says, 'By christmas.'

Dashiva holds up 4000 fingers.

Herbert waits for the story.

Herbert sits down on the ground.

'Agrippa could stir up a crowd like no other,' Sandra says. 'That boy could get even those that flat out refused to RP, to do so. And because of him, People wanted to RP with him, and it made clans back then pretty damn active.'

Dashiva looks up into the sky and ponders.

Elisa says wistfully, 'I think all I do is make people not want to RP.'

Soze says, 'Agrippa for president?'

Sandra says, 'He made the Hermetics, the good old hermetics, become enemies of like 4 other clans with a single RP ;P.'

'I beg to differ :),' Marcel says to Elisa.

Dashiva says insanely, 'Do you have logs?'

'Personally I think Marcel's doing that fairly well now, by involving the whole mud with the ongoing RP with Haley etc,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy.

Sandra says to Dashiva, 'They're in the old LTs.'

Dashiva nods his agreement with Herbert.

Soze grovels before Marcel.

Judah clears his throat.

Marcel is not alone to praise or blame for that plot. *cough*

Wixen has arrived from the east.

'Marcel makes me wanna jump up and go terrorize someone,' Dashiva says, looking crazed.

Wixen sits down and rests.

Sandra giggles.

Elisa giggles.

'Anyway to get back to my point,' Sandra says.

Judah says humbly, 'Marcel is a great one at that.. we discussed that earlier.'

Herbert smiles at Wixen.

'He made that clan that was quiet for so long, come alive again,' Sandra says.

'How did agrippa get people to RP?' Dashiva says, looking crazed.

Herbert says, sad and melancholy, 'He paid 'em.'

Herbert grins evilly.

Marcel will now go blush.

Sandra says to Dashiva, 'Well the particular RP was that he kidnapped his own children and was going to feed his daughter to the wolves ;P.'

Dashiva snickers softly.

Dean slaps Marcel with a salmon.

Judah goes EEK! in distress.

'Weeeee,' Soze says.

Dashiva says, looking crazed, 'And everyone jumped him for it?'

You nod agreement with him.

Sandra even jumped him for it.

Soze throws his head back and cackles with insane glee!

'That requires more than RP, though, it also requires basic mud skills,' Marcel says.

'?' Dashiva says, looking crazed, to Marcel.

'To -- well, stay alive in spite of all the jumping,' Marcel says.

'Yeah definately,' Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness.

Sandra giggles.

Dashiva laughs with amusement.

Marcel says, 'No one would enjoy sitting naked in tara with a perma warning.'

Dashiva says insanely, 'He did?'

Marcel says, 'I doubt it, he had the skills to make up for his losses.'

Dashiva nods solemnly.

'No, pk was a bit different back then as well,' Sandra says.

Judah nods solemnly.

Dean says, 'More wolf packing... :).'

Soze comforts Grunt.

'More running... :),' Herbert says, sad and melancholy.

'So, in short: Keep your RP alive, keep it interesting, and by all means, keep it different,' Sandra says. 'People will be interested.'

'More pkillers ;),' Mitsukake says.

Sandra says, 'Maybe not everyone, but people will.'

Marcel says, 'And BE interested.'

Soze raises his hand.

Judah nods his agreement with Marcel.

Soze says, 'This might be a FAQ.'

Marcel says, 'No one can be the main character all the time, be a supporter for someone else's plot every second time too.'

'So please do not feed me to the wolves,' Soze says.

Soze licks his lips and smiles.

'Absolutely,' Sandra says to Marcel.

'Hehe, ok but just his one time ;),' Sandra says to Soze.

Judah claps for Marcel approvingly.

Judah smiles happily.

'I think a lot of people have trouble getting into other's plots,' Elisa says with a faraway look.

'I think it would be cool if people joined in on the current RP with completely different angles that would be fun,' Herbert says, voice filled with a quiet sadness.

'Why not raise the amount of available members in clans and lower the amount of clans?' Soze says.

Marcel says, 'A lot of people are afraid that they're butting in.'

Elisa nods her agreement with Marcel.

'Yeah fer sure,' Herbert says, sad and melancholy.

Grunt nods his agreement with Herbert.

'Simply because currently there aren't enough active,' Sandra says to Soze.

Elisa says wistfully, 'And sometimes they're treated that way too.'

'And sadly, a lot of people do get told that they are butting in,' Marcel says.

Herbert nods his agreement with Marcel.

Dashiva butts in all the time.

Dean says, 'It would be nice to raise the amount who can be in a clan.'

'Yeah, and I love it :P,' Marcel says to Dashiva.

Soze says to Sandra, 'That would make more active members in each clan.'

Dashiva grins evilly at Marcel.. wonder what he's thinking...

'Not really, not when the average clan has only 7 members, and probably 2 active ones ;),' Sandra says to Soze.

Soze says to Sandra, 'If statisticly you have 3-4 of 15 members active, and you raise the limit to say 30.'

'When that average goes up to probably 11 then so will the max limit,' Sandra says.

Soze says, 'You'd have 6-8 active players.'

Elisa says with a faraway look, 'Even USL had to go back to one clan.'

Dashiva nods his agreement with Elisa.

Marcel says, 'Then you get no real difference, because new RP image people start new clans anyway.'

Herbert says, sad and melancholy, 'I think some form of implemented code for promotion and benefit within clans would help a lot for those that need RP incentives.'

You shake your head.

Marcel says, 'Or attract more demanding people...'

Sandra says, 'I'm not knocking your idea, but lemme explain my feelings on that.'

'That's what I'm on about,' Soze says to Marcel.

Herbert nods his agreement with Sandra.

Marcel says, 'I know that my clans are low in membership when we're not 'trendy' because we do not give away free xp, eq, etc.'
