Stats

Was looking at the homepage and suggestions that have been made in the past, and stumbled upon one of my own that got a somewhat positive response from Ptah, yet something I haven't seen done since then :p If we take it as a given that oldbies will figure out ways to reroll chars at lvls as low as possible, then it makes no sense for true newbies to be hindered by not knowing their stats until lvl 10. I don't propose we actually give out stats before that, not their exact stats, but some sort of a verbal range -- Very poor, poor, average good, and very good, or if a 5-lvl scale is too telling, a 3 lvl scale of poor, average and good to tell stats apart. If not that, at least some form of a reminder to let ppl know the order in which they've picked their stats -- it can be quite easy to forget. I don't think it would be hard to code, and if we make it a 10 scale change we could actually have the numbers not show up until much much later, say around lvl 35 or so (ppl would love that :p). In any case, I personally reroll chars at lvl 1, and unless the rolling procedure gets changed drastically and the score display changed again, I'll always know 2-4 of my stats at lvl 1, with a good idea of the other 2-4 stats that i might not know exactly. Why make it hard for new players to at least have a chance to see if a gear affects a stat of theirs (although it would probably not show unless it changes it drastically, or just over the edge) and have at least some sense of the character they're fumbling about with? Well I have to admit I do this too, and I expect that most people that have been here a while do as well. Some character types don't matter as much as others, since they have a requirement in all stats, but certainly pure fighters/pure snipers would benefit from rerolling. I am not sure it would be nice to have level 35 as the time when you get to see your numerical stat, that is a long, long way off for a new player starting their first character. (I think it took me about 3 months to get to 35 with my first character) I definately think that this hurts new players more than it needs to. Brede
