Ever consider coding awareness in possibly based on
perc, or perc and spirit. It could be used for dodging
backstabs or spells. Ie the more awareness you have the
better you are at these things. Along with this I think
it would be good to have stuff like hide, be resistant
to awareness and sneak also, and invis be totally
oblivious to awareness check. In this way, sneaking and
hiding would be upgraded. If your unaware of your
opponent being in the room, you would be more likely
to be paralyzed by warcry, backstab, not likely to
dodge or tumble spells etc. Maybe this could be a
skill, or every char get some and skill make it work
better. Only problem I can forsee is it making high
dex perc types too powerful. I mean they are pretty
weak now I guess, but I wouldn't want to exclusively
give them only a nifty skill. Comments?

Would overpower mages with detect hidden, and otherwise
access to spells that can hide them much more easily than
fighters.

I kinda like other muds, where the skill hide isn't detectable.
Or you just see, someone is hiding here etc, with no name.
Detect hidden is already way overpowered if you ask me, it
makes hide pretty useless, only good when someone rents off
affects, but with it being made so you cant rent off affects
the hide skill is pretty useless. But you bring up a good
point, and I'm sure theres other problems with the idea
but I doubt there are very few ideas that would make things
more interesting without bring up problems that need to be
tweaked. I guess the question is whether it could be made
to work and if it would be worth it.
