Opinions, people. Am I the only one who's annoyed by the 'your feeble
witticism' part of the chuckle social? I'd like to change it to not seem
so condescending. Whatcha think?

I totally agree. I was just ranting about this the other day actually.
It's not just chuckle, ALL our socials especially the laughter based
ones are snotty, condescending and rude. Why can't we laugh WITH people?
Answer I guess, because whoever wrote our socials was probably a snotty
condescending elitist type of person but...no we couldn't have one of those
on legend could we? Never! Right?

Ah! It's merely an evil plot to make everyone customise all
their reactions via the emoteto command.
(Let's conveniently forget that said command is relatively new...)

Well, Neo, feel very welcome to add any other socials you think come
across as snotty. Some of em sure can use some loving, it's been
10 years after all.

No, 'pat' IS condescending, PLEASE don't pull it. PLEASE.
It's the ultimate come back when someone talks big.
I do agree about chuckle, I like to chuckle about a good remark.
It's something a nobleman would chuckle about, but not openly laugh.

Don't pull pat!!!!!!!! Or I'll multi Rufus....

Don't even get me started on "ruffle".
But yeah, a bunch of the socials have a kind of sassy attitude to them.
I figured most of these were holdovers from Diku because I've seen the
same ones or close variants on other muds.
I'm all for changing a few of them, as long as they aren't stripped of
all character. Removing "feeble witticism" is one thing, changing it to
just "Blanket chuckles" or something similarly yawn-inducing is quite
another.
How about just removing the word "feeble"? Chuckling politely at one's
witticism isn't condescending.

A better non-condescending patting-people-on-the-back may be thump person?
