This is going to be laughed at but this is what i would suggest
for all charmed ellies, greaters, and animated.
Make it dependant on what fighter type the owner is. Str, Dex, or Con.
Str - Strength mages should make charmies that hit hard but have low
hps. Maybe an added attack other than a special if the
said created/made charmy has one.
Dex - Dex mages should make charmies who have double the normal
attacks of any said created/made charmy has. Also maybe
have them dodge and block attacks.
Con - Con mages should make charmies who have double or more hps
added to them. Or whatever would seem right for a formula
for hps relative to the owner.
With this set up it may seem strange but atleast to me it would make
some differences with my different mage types i make. Also note that
those are mainly bonuses to a norm set by current formula's to charmed
hps/mana/mv.
Just my thoughts on what i would like to make with certain mages with
certain main fight stats.

After some thought I rather keep the suggestion to its most simpliest form
Just where a certain main fight stats affect charmies diffently then
another would.

Another quick thing while im on a ramble.. how about this for helping
ellies out. I keep hearing how we want to make them better.
How about giving each elemental a random chance to do an elemental
spell? Afterall, an elemental should be a force of its own element.
Suggestions as such:
Salamanders - random chance to flamestrike
Sprites - random chance to gust of wind
Golems - random chance to earthquake
Niads - random chance to drown
Ofcourse those are just suggestions for the magic spell they could use.
Also ofcourse they would need to be, in some cases, in the right
type of room to allow such spells to be casted.

Interesting ideas, but I wouldn't base them on the fightstats like that.
Dex and str mages are more likely to want a large charmy that can tank,
while con would want one to do damage. Basically, a charmy with
different strengths to use than the owner possesses would be more
desireable.

I think the point of using gust of wind as an example since it is
a known spell to us. I'm sure someone up there can think of a creative
chant kere mahi rudh ex spell that something made of air would use.
-air spell that is.. peer alias
