On the surface, it seems better to be able to pkill with more than one alt. But is it really? Back when pkill was a lot more exciting, we were only allowed to have one pkill character. That being the case, people made their one pkiller count. They spent more time developing that char, and the pk community was a lot easier to keep track of, as you always knew who was in what clan and there wasn't as much turnover. Why was it changed when pkok went in? The same reasons why we weren't allowed to have more than one pk alt before pkok are still valid today. It's still relatively easy to use one pk alt to attack someone because of something that happened with your other pk alt. Changing it back would cut down on abuse, and also result in more time spent on fewer characters, and it would help us get back the community atmosphere in pk. Ganymede et al.

From: Ganymede Wednesday, July 18 2001, 02:03PM Well Fraegis, we don't all have the luxury of knowing everybody's alts, or caring to know them. And frankly, we shouldn't have to. It's that whole notion of trying to stay completely IC. Ever hear of that? Ganymede et al.

From: Harkonnen Wednesday, July 18 2001, 02:38PM One thing about the 'good old days' I do NOT miss at all is sitting online as my non-enabled alt for another PK to log in, or waiting only as my non-enabled alt for the mass of MERCs to log out or go away... And, now that we all have several enabled chars - how could we pick which one to PK with and which ones to archive...???
