Wonder what the percentage of old players are that
continue churning out new chars compared to those that
log old chars and find themselves without much of a
purpose.
Wonder how many changes could be implemented without
much of the grief if we didn't have nearly as many level
50 chars around with old eq, coupons, skills, setups, etc.
Wonder how much life trouble it would save if nobody had
an alt they are tempted to cross or multiplay with or to ask such
from others or to suspect such from others.
Wonder how many new RP and PK themes could be birthed if
we didn't have all the clan slots filled by clans that are hardly
active.
Wonder what it would be like if chars had a greater in-game
objective, such as being able to partake in deciding when this
mud will go on a charwipe.
Yes, charwipe. The mud right now is way too static and is starting
to reek from the rot it's developing. I say we flush it and create
a way to have it flush itself out, either by RL time or some
grandiose objective that ppl can both work for and against, such
as attaining 1k mil xp combined, 100 mil gold combined (with each
char marking which way their xp will be spent, to prevent or to cause),
or by having an accept all clan attain 300 mil combined...
Anyway, it would be more fun, and more lively. I think.

I didnt spend over 1100 hours on most of my chars so
that they can just be wiped away because someone is bored

As long as people and chars suffer from each change, we will
spend countless hours and boardspace griping about changes
that need and would get constructive feedback otherwise.
Besides, I'd like to see this place get somewhere instead of
lingering where it is as it has done in the past few years,
spending incredible effort trying to balance minor details
and appease bored level 50s, which is simply meaningless
if we're going towards skill trees.

Psytrac, Lagmonster, Warke, Bulk, Haul, Dudley, Mystbane, Himura
Vajrapani, Agni, Papercut, Mo, Wuss, Manticore, Darkheart,
Lagmonster II, and some other chars none of us remember...
Oh yah, of all them chars listed, only two are perma'd while the
rest simply linger...

i must agree with dashiva...took me over a year to get
my first char to lvl 50 and i wouldnt appreciate that char
getting wiped at this point (since i just got him there last
month) and im sure others have chars that they are even
more attached to than i am to my lvl 50....

In my experience pfile wipes have
killed the mud or fragged the player
base for a good 6 months.
I don't think the issue is the pfile
it is a leadership question. Where is
this mud being led to, where is it
going to be in 5 years and if no one
has a clue then thats the problem.
If you know where you are headed then
you have a plan. You can evalute things
against whether or not a change is on
the path or off the path. You can also
deviate from a plan if you have one.
No plan, you are in limbo land maintaining
and we don't grow.

At present, this mud has no leadership.
