Alot of people disgruntled with the Immortals
continue to forget some things.
A) This is a public venture, but it is privatly owned. (See Kaige)
B) All these Immortals have lives other than Legend which may
or may not include a "Real Job" where they actually receive money
(and perhaps praise) for their efforts.
C) Being an Immortal is a completely voluntary act and the only jobs
they are required to do are enforced by their Department Heads
17) Notice how there are many many Builder Imms, but there are very few
Coders or Admins? You think coding is that easy? You think Administratio
is that easy? Coders and Admins draw alot of heat for a simple
slip of a typo or lapse of judgement from outside influences.
Not that I'm sucking up to the Imms or anything, but maybe I'd like
to be one someday and sometimes the glory is quite removed from it.
Personally I think only one Immortal cheezed me off.. and I think she
was just having a bad day with other idiots and my charming obnoxious
self just got misplaced with those yahoos. Especially since the
incident was never repeated.
(Other than LadyAce and Sandra keep nix'ing half my descriptions...
How is "Scooby Doo" too "weird" for a short?)

they knew everything that came with the job beforehand. If you can't
stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, or, in this case, never go in
the kitchen in the first place.

All Imm's do know what they are getting into to
some point when they enter into the position. I would
guess that there are some suprises for everyone involved.
though knowing what to expect does NOT invalidate the
fact that all the other points that QuacK brings up.
Just because we KNOW this is a thankless job does not in
itself change that fact.

To continue what Chocorua said, it also does not mean
you should go out of your way to make life hell for immorts,
and then using they knew what they were getting into as an excuse.

Knowing what the job entails doesn't necessarily mean it's understood
how good or bad it's going to be. Prospective immortals know there
will be very little appreciation for what they will do, that people
will hate them and accuse them of various things, but they don't
necessarily know the severity of exactly HOW BAD it will be - and no
amount of warning could prepare them for their first time getting
reamed, harrassed, or called worthless and useless by a player. Such
is the way of all jobs, not just that of being an immortal. At least
they get compensated for some of those other jobs.
Just think - if they couldn't stand the heat, if that first time they
went through finding out exactly how thankless some players are and
how verbally abusive some players can be... if that first time (or
any other time after that) they decided to give up and get out, or
decided to never get in in the first place - you'd be playing someplace
else.
They've been in the players shoes, and they still are - they know
what it is like from our perspective. Give them some slack, cut down
on the verbal abuse and whining, and remember that they are human
and are doing this for free.

I personnally think the imms do a great job
and I try to be a personnal friend to all of them
I mean, everyone makes mistakes, and everyone has
bad days, so if you get an imm that is having one
making it worse isn't gonna make them feel any
better.
I actually would like to thank a lot of those imms out there
for being there for the players, I know I have had moments
where I needed to talk to someone and the imms were
usually there.
