Let's go back. Let's restrict PKOK to 1 char per player, and give a pk timer of an RL month or two instead of ticks. Grudges are dismissed way too lightly and enabled chars no longer get the time and care they used to get in the old days. It's great having more than 1 char to pk with at any given time, but what it does for me is greatly reduce the effort given to any of the chars individually and the game as a whole. PK was never a light choice and PKOK should not be either. If you want to pkok with somebody, you should stick to that single decision for an RL month or two, at least. And without the option to pkok an alt of yours to cheat yourself of the weight of that decision. Friendly duels? Sure, it won't matter a bit because if it started friendly, was processed fairly and ended friendly, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Nothing will change for those who are either hard core or just good sports. For those who relished in jumping, hiding forever and refusing... this probably won't sound good. Nowadays, its not like that at all, people can manipulate the system so that they can hurt people, and harrass them severely, and still get away with it scot free without any chance of retribution. Augustus, everyone knows him, he killed everyone all the time, and what happened to him? He get jumped by a bunch of people, killed and had his blinding wormy junked, justice served, without the use of Imm's or PKOK, or any coding. Just a contingent of MUD citizens doing what they thought was right, like a posse. Castor, he was a more recent scourge, and one with which I delt with as a Knight even like two years ago, he was delt with yet again, by the PK citizens not be Imms, or by coding. And lets face it, this whole talk of PKOK began with the mass attack on Arsene, that was the point in time when PK first got pulled, and when the imms finally decided enough was enough and something must be done. Well, frankly, thats a load of I dunno, but lets look at the fact. For the about year and a half before that, Arsene, had been the leader of a contingent of PKillers who waged a terrible bloody, multi, and looty war against another group of PKillers, which I was apart of. Now I'm not saying my side was much better, but in the end Arsene had made so many enemies with his evil, harrassing ways, that a few guys, which I might even be able to put myself with decided to end it, we decided that Arsene needed to die so we went about doing that, and you know, half way thru the MUD was busy correcting itself, the imms took out PK, and so here we are. The people no longer able to control their own destinys like we used to be able to I dunno where I'm goin with this, but to generally say that, before PK was inherintly self-correcting, and now you've given the bad guys a mean of escape. Let's face it, in the end, the Grendels got killed off, Arsenes Knights got destroyed, and the world was safe once again. Thats really all I have to say, Sir Rictor Belmont

From: Rictor Monday, March 26 2001, 09:54PM You have a big pair of grapefruits if you think that you even begin to compare to the old Grendels, I dont care if you are one or there are still 8 of them in the clan, but Grendels no longer inspire the fear and loathing that they once did, they are a shadow of their former selves, much like PK and all the other clans. We couldn't 'inspire' fear if we wanted to. -shrug- Sorta forced to dual everyone anyway, even though we are the only clan who is accept all, fights are still a rarety. go figure.
