I happened to have found one of these items pretty early on in
my life here. Generally its a weapon that I've ignored in the
past because so many other weapons are better.
I'm just wondering why it isn't a little better than it is? It's
harder to get than a lot of good str weapons, forked tongue sword
for example. It is pretty high rent for an item than it a single
for example. It is pretty high rent for an item that is a single
alignment only. It does piddly damage unless the special goes off.
And probably the worst part is that it's always two handed? (I
might be wrong on this, but I think its correct)
Its always been a really neat item, great description and so on,
I'd just like to see it used more.

...I've often thought the same thing. I've always been a huge fan
of the trident, from back when it was the only thing that made me
worthwhile in a fight :). While I do think that we need a wide
range of weapons in the game, the really good ones ought to be
on really tough mobs, and scale down appropriately (in general).
This, of course, is not a promise. Just an immediate reaction.
