I was thinking, rent was put here to stop characters having more
eq for their level than they should, and if you are over rent when
you go link dead or the mud crashes, you loose all your stuff.
Wouldn't it be much nicer if instead of simply junking all of the
character's eq, you could just start at the top of the 'offer'
list and junk things until the character could save. This would
still ensure that characters could not keep more items than they
are entitled to.

I'd like that. Of course it'd take just a little effort for me to
make sure that a (say plat leaf) was always at the top of my offer,
at which point I could get all those nifty spell effects for
basically no rent...
Unless the mud were to differientate between LD overrent and non-LD
overrent. Hm.
