hrm seems to me pk has grinded to a halt maybe i'm on legend wrong hours... but i've logged on the same hours i did since when i started.. and i've seen a dramatic decrease of pk! anyone else notize dat?

From: Darkheart Saturday, October 21 2000, 07:50AM For me, as much as i don't mind PKOK, that's what stopped PK. Again, this only applies to me, probably, but this is because i am allowed more than one char to pk with at a time. How does this make me pk less? Simple, i stopped creating new chars. There's little need for me to create new chars anymore, especially considering the amount of effort involved. Instead, i'll unarchive one of my old alts, pk, rearchive. With game balance the way it is, it isn't as if there's a new chartype that has become especially attractive so that i have to try a char of that type, and chances are i'll have that chartype stashe somewhere anyway. Following this, i should actually have more time to pk. I mean, i don't have to spend time creating new chars anymore. But since all my chars ahv have retired before, i've pk'd up to wazoo with most of them. Not much incentive pk'ing the same old ppl with the same old char, under the same old system. At least before, if i was sick of being a dex mage, i had to recreate a char, and pk with it until i get bored or i could redeem. Sides, i don't even get that little advantage of being a 'nobody' that ppl will gladly jump. Worse, not many new players are joining while quite a few old players are cutting their playtime. ALthough i have no intention to blame pkok for everything, i think it's ti time we try to find out exactly how many "NEW" players join this mud. If there's still a significant amount of new players, not characters, entering this mud (though what would be significant is not for me to decide), i'll just live with what we've got. But if we find out that there aren't any new players joining this mud... We should probably take that into account and turn this mud more oldbie friendly. That is, put in features that makes it more worthwhile creating new chars, such as tailored stats, etc. DH
