Although I haven't seen this yet, I think it will reduce the
effectiveness of charmies, and hence decrease the effectiveness
of create mages even further. It should at least have a pretty
hefty skill lag (2 min) and probably even some adverse effect if
you fail, such as a round of not attacking anything or switching
target to something other than intended in the room. Also, it owuld
be interesting if it depended on some stat, preferrably perc
since inspired snipers against a charmie spells death more surely
than anything else i can think of.

Uhhh 2 minutes? Maybe, right after they set the backstab alert
timer to 2 minutes muahahah! Anyway, I think there should be a 1
pulse skill lag (makes sense) and you should NOT be able to
change targets once you are raged (inspired or normal skill or
warcry induced). Makes sense to me...

'target' has a chance of turning to attack, it's not 100%. It's
got normal skill-lag associated with it (2 rounds whether it
succeeds or fails).
As far as charmies go, it is -significantly- more difficult for
someone to turn from a charmed creature to that creature's
master than it is to turn from a mob to a mob, a person to a
person, or a charmed creature to a person or mob that isn't
that charmed person's master.

1 pulse lag? 1 pulse lag is what we have on movement and channels
-- it's got to be a slight bit more than that... currently it is
the same as using a normal fight skill (kick, headbutt, warcry)

for pkill.... "target" seems fine. 2 rounds with a
(let me quote rufus) -significantly- greater chance to fail
when switching from a charmy to a master is just fine.
I hope that builders dont give their mobs target though.
As a create mage, its not hard to find ways around people
in pkill switching targets. If Im the mage, I can assure
you that no one will waste 2 rounds with chance for fail
against me....
Just dont make mob killing with charmies a pain. Not that I care
Im saying this for the sake of all those nonpkers that always post
random posts against my ideas in matters that dont concern them
at all -cough-christopher-cough-.
Cause Im a nice guy -wink-
Dont forget it!
Seriously, for all those lamos that like to amass 550 million
xp.. (haha), please dont make mobs switch on them!

Actually the chance for mobs to naturally turn from the charmie
to the master far outweighs the success that they'd have
actually using 'target' =) And that's been in the code for
a long time.
