Ok, Ive been playing here since 1993, and this post isnt
really about pk or the like, but possibly about improving
the mud, cause im bored. The idea relates kinda to "old style"
eq and the lack of ambition to do sl/pd and the other
hard areas that supposedly reward the larger groups.
It also relates to variable eq as well, and it goes a little
something like this:
For the harder areas, and maybe the easier areas as well, I
think we should have various eq across the board. The various
eq should contain unique items, that change with each pop or
reboot. So the keeper in dis wouldn't have the same two rings
every freakin time you kill him and it would make going to dis
a lot funner, or for that matter anywhere to see if you can
find something more unique. And let me explain a little about
unique, trash the 5 stat standard, or the 3 stat 4 dam/hit
standard and all the standards, throw them outta the window.
Make the tougher stuff rewarding, that way old eq that all
of us have tons of not as important, and maybe this can
change pk/ok as well, who knows.
Also, what about even throwing in colored items as bounty
too? It seems stupid to have to know trivia or run around
for flags or other menial tasks to get a little color, go
ahead and make items that have color. I think the variable
thing would work, it has been implemented somewhat, but
lets expand it, lets have nice eq on tough mobs, heck throw
some nice eq on a squire, and easy mobs so newbies can have
something worth a crap instead of having to buy it on auction
or getting their buddy to get it. It would make some of the
old timers wanna play again without feeling that if you go to
point a you got item a...it becomes boring that way, maybe
not quick, but if you play long enough it does, it would
just add a little more excitement and would give me a reason
to go play some.
Ive said enough...

I like the idea of random items to make the mud more exciting. But you
know, there IS already a color-item you don't need trivia or flag-hunting
abilities to get.
For those of you who are bored, from pk losing it's luster for you, or
because you know the mud well and can predict everything, try to rp a
little more. I guarantee, you cannot predict how other's will react to you

I don't even know why I'm bothering to post. I've left legend for 11
months now and haven't spent any significant time back on the mud
since then. But from the last few posts, I can see that the players
absolute LOVE legend as I still do. They are being so vocal because
Legend wasn't and still isn't 'just' a game. I've seen ideas posted,
I've seen requests for imm response, I've seen suggestions; every
post reflects how much Legend means to this community. The bottom
line is we don't want to lose that special feeling when playing.
This community cares. Maybe it's already been done, but a response
from an immortal, even if it is only his or her personal opinion,
would mean a lot.
As for the community not caring about losing players, I suggest
everyone reevaluate the situation. No matter how 'evil' a person
was, that person helped to make things more interesting. The things
I still remember aren't the SL runs, or the Hell runs, or any runs
or quests. It was getting my ass kicked by Augustus, killing
besides Agyar and Keyzer, getting beat by Leatherface and Moe,
and numerous otherfights. Now before you label me as a hardcore
pkiller, I can tell you that I switch between rp and pkill
regularly. I submitted at least a dozen articles to the LT somtimes
on a bimonthly basis. I just hate to see players so disappointed
in a community that they came to love so much.
As you can see, I still care enough to bother to post even
even after leaving for so long. This community wants to thrive. There
has to be a way for it to do so.

in my opinion..
every MUD I've been to where the color was placed
on items by immortals..
Let me just say.. I have color turned off on those muds.
and Arte.. it was Mo, not Moe
