new reqs for meditate

I have read on the welcome board about the new requirements for meditate. I find the change justified, it does in fact make a lot of sense. But..if I learned the skill with the old prerecs and can't use it anymore, shouldn't it mean that I have the right to so to speak give back the skill and get the prac refunded? I did ask an immortal. The answer was that druids normally already have the stats needed for meditate. Well I chose to make druids that basically are pure druids with only the rudiments of magic - meaning 45 mind :) I pointed it out to the immortal in question, and the answer was that it was pretty wasteful since so many of the druids reqs also qualify one for 2c magic, but that it was my choice. This is the point exactly! It -is- my choice. If I sacrifice 10 points or more of mind and the more advanced aspects of 2c magic to perfect one of my fighting stats and thus make more "independent", it most certainly -is- my choice or at least should be. I also chose to learn meditate with the requirements the skill had at the time. If it had the reqs it will have with the update next week, I ceratinly -would- have chosen -not- to learn it! So, IMHO, if the requirement for a skill change so that I don't want the skill anymore, I think it should be possible for me to get the skill exchanged and /or the prac refunded. To me, personally, it's a minor problem, if a problem at all. But I think what I lined out here raises a major principal issue as such. Respectfully Paddy O'Leary

From: Icarus Sunday, June 25, 04:48AM hrm i agree with paddy if he's a druid doesn't mean he's gonna be a fullon 100mind/spi type i'ts HIS choice and i don't think he should be forced to use a prac on meditate which he can't use now because of the new meditation changes w -wyvern with his krusty eyes and about to go to bed

From: Celia Monday, June 26, 06:34AM I agree, if reqs change then pracs should be reimbursed as a matter of principle. Its irrelevant whether immorts think its silly to have certain stats.

From: DrStrange Tuesday, July 04, 02:48PM I agree as well. When somone learns a skill based on current reqs, and the reqs change, that person needs to re-evaluate the skill and how it balances with the rest of their skills. If at that time, they decide to ditch the skill rahter than lose other skills to keep it, we should be reimbursed a prac. THAT said - How about an Immort aappends to this post letting us know that you read it and are discussing the possibility or maybe just have decided outright against reimbursing us? -poke News board post regarding lack of communication- DrStrange the idiot who learned throw because he thought the ID spell was going to make ID vials (i am 3c cause), and wants that practice back but knows that is a request that can't be honored
