Hello all,
I talked with one imm (prolly Charity) about my house
probably 35 days ago. Charity said, i will mudmail ya
immediately if i will know something new about it...
For you, who know nothing about this, someone
stole everything from my house (i'm not pk
enabled and my two friends on my list, Ceri
and Kurd weren't able to do it).
So someone from imms mudmail me where is problem
or just gimme things from my house back..
Btw not sure if it is 35 days but maybe it is more..
Thank you.

Shine,
I passed along the circumstances of your housing loss to the coders, as I
have done for everyone else who reported housing problems to me. The
coders have looked for bugs that might cause loss, not once but over and
over again. At this point, they have been unable to find any bugs, and we
have to administer the system based on our best efforts.
At this point, housing losses fall under the same policy as worn equip
reimbursals. We do not reimburse unless a diagnosed, unfixed bug is to
blame. Housing losses may be due to pk stealing in some cases, and to
the expel command in others. Because these in-game methods of housing
loss exist, and we have no way to verify that loss did NOT occur
because of the in-game methods, we do not reimburse housing losses.
I'm sorry if you or anyone else have been waiting for an answer. We
have never before stated an absolute "no reimbursals" policy with
regards to housing because the coders do still look for bugs when loss
is reported to them, and we still hope to find an explanation beyond
in-game meanness. There have been a few occasions when genuine bugs
were found and fixed, for instance the owned-corpse-duplication bug
awhile ago. As your wait illustrated though, we need to simply come
out with this disappointing policy up front, to save time and let
players know what your realistic expectations should and shouldn't be.
Everyone should feel free to continue reporting housing losses to me
or another immortal. We'll still pass the reports on to coders.
However, unless you are then approached with an offer to reimb, I'm
afraid you'll have to assume that no bugs have been found and no
reimbursal will be forthcoming. I know it's frustrating to lose stuff,
and I promise you it's frustrating for us to not be 100% sure that
there ISN'T a bug. We'll continue to look for bugs as warranted, but
until any are found, our standard reimbursal rules must apply.

Charity, that hardly seems fair. It seems like you are coming out
and saying "We do not trust your word Shine, we think that you may
have expeled some items or someone on your befirend list got them.
too bad for you since we can't seem to figure this one out"
What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
If I was shine, and you reimbursed me shortly after I brought
the problem to your attention, and then subsequently a bug was
discovered and the items were returned and duplicated, I would
simply junk the duplicates. It would be the only honorable thing to do.
So why don't you just reimburse the poor guy while your coders
figure out what the exact bug is? Why should a character be without their
items for no fault of their own? Why does the character have to pay the
price for the time it takes to find and decode a bug?
just my two cents
