PKOK followup

Jeez, I didnt play for a day or two and the old thread got huge. So Im starting it again.. Huginn says that if character A has eq that is owned to character B then A cant unok B. And A cant give the eq to C who didnt ok B. Thats all good. But what if A loots B's entire corpse and fades the items and drops them in random places, and then unoks B? So you see whats happening? No one will pkok all. Cause the danger of someone digruntled player logging off, logging on an unknown alt of his, turning on description, and then looting the player he hates (after they die to mob, lets say) who is pkok all is too b big. As I said before, I think that if Player A loots or multies Player B then the Accept or Reject option should be COMPLETELY in the hands of the victim. On more issue. Lets say that player A is pkokall, and some annoying jerk decides to unok his entire group, and then wolf pack him with his buddies. I think that if player A's group mates are PKOK ALL, then they should be able to assist and heal him. The reasoning is that by bein being pkok ALL, they are keeping the doors for the aggressors to ok them, and deter the healing. Can imms think of one case where this shouldnt be allowed? Does anyone agree with me that being PKOK ALL is not a smart thing unless some provisions are made for the above cases? Dont get me wrong, Im very excited for PKOK, but I see some problems with it, and I want to make sure that imms thought about all these things as they were coding for it. Poetry

From: Violence Monday, May 01, 05:06PM Steal will inho be the bigest problem with the new system. Personally I'd prefer to have it changed so you can do two things: 1) you can only steal items from the living 2) you can only steal gold from corpses All we need is one or two people who will abuse the new pkok environment to piss off or annoy a huge amount of the people. If there isn't going to be a more restrictive penalties top those that do choose to loot, I for one will probably never pkok any of my alts just because I have no desire to run the rsik of losing some of my hard to get or strung eq to somebody who managed to beat me and wants to be annoying. From: Mugwump Tuesday, May 02, 08:47AM First of all, I think this is a rather ingenious solution to steal, should have been how the skill worked all along. Under the current system, a stolen item is "owned" by the thief. So much for victims rights. But it's probably a good idea to place limits, such as not being able to steal from a corpse. However: Will these changes to steal be applied to mobs who steal as well? Meaning, if a mob steals will the item still be owned by the person it was stolen from? Because if not, that now infamous dastard, CharA, can steal an item from CharB, put it in a bag, have a mob steal it, reclaim it from the corpse of the mob, and unok CharB (since the item he has is no longer owned by CharB). And of course, we should make this retroactive so I could go over to the house of the wise and benevolent Marauder and pick up a few things ;)

From: Porthos Wednesday, May 03, 09:28AM Hmm... It was my understanding that the stolen item is owned by the victim and that the person in possession of the item can't unok the victim, meaning the victim of the theft can always go try to kill whoever has his old strung blinding wormy, or what have you. As for the wolfpacking issue, that is a major concern of mine. I can see it as a major threat, six people attacking me, (CharA through CharF) and my sitting there with FriendA through FriendZ and they can do nothing but watch me get wailed on. Have I simply missed imm responses on this? Also, to everyone saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," I think they beauty of our current PK system is that while that is true, what DOES kill you also usually makes you stronger. From: CharA Wednesday, May 03, 09:57AM OK, I'm getting a really bad bashing here on this board. I never stole nothin!
