PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS!

From: Sammael Thursday, March 16, 09:08PM can you say...not productive?

From: Blackthorne Friday, March 17, 12:04AM Im fast becoming convinced of a vast immortal conspiracy drive me of Legen d. The first blow came in the form of grad stats, which ruined me ever becoming a mage. The second came today when i logged on to find that the new cap on hit and dam had been put in. Ohh fun! Now I hit like everyone else. Some reason i cant get the image of a group of imms sitting in a da ark smokey room thinking of reasons to get me to leave. -Accuse- Well i gotta message for you, Its not going to be that easy. Ahh well, no use crying over spilled milk, but im still amazed at the time these changes take to go in. I know that immortals say they worked on grad stats for about a year befor e it was put in, but i know they could have done a better job preparing pe paring for it. I hear about it for one week, next week its in. Same thin g with these dam\hit changes. I read a board posts about players complain ing "-Whine- My fights dont last as long, lets get ride of dam\hit roll" Then boom, its in. Ahh whatever, this change frees me up some rent at lea st. Hmm, i hope theres a message somewhere in my post, see if you can get around all the bitter sarcasm.-giggle- Blackthorne de'Dannan'

From: Ptwang Friday, March 17, 12:21AM Don't worry, I see what you're trying to say, you now have excess old +dam stuff you want to give away to someone like me!

From: Lagmonster Friday, March 17, 12:31AM I'm just somewhat annoyed with hit/dam, mostly since without them fighter chars don't have much productive ways spending their free rent, and them generally not being too competitive atm either. It's not as if there's a chalice like thing for fighters to fill a rent gap... guess they could rent 4 muddy vials for the rent of a chalice, or have that many more bubblies to save them from blind or bind -- tho what kills them most of the time is cure crit, immolate, stun... something no amount of vials will protect them from. Now that hit/dam gear is out, what we need are eq that give resistances on top of stats, at fairly high rent. Resistance to fire pentacle, with 4 net stats, perhaps, 5kish rent, repair. Well, maybe not a pentacle since it'll rob fighter chars of one of the most efficient slots for them. Resistance to stun shield, or breastplate, 4-5 net stat, 6-8k rent. Or, a used as light perma light source that gives detect hidden and illusi on for 6k rent. A deteriorating cup (as opposed to timed, it'll keep getting damaged per certain amount of ticks) that can be repaired, perhaps, that heals 25 hps if you sip from it... with a fill value of two ticks, just like the chalice. Or a timed 'sanc' ring that continuously provides the fighter with the equivalent of a 50 mind sink, maybe. 10k rent. A gun that fires two or more shots at once, and requires to be reloaded that many times in order to fire again, which is renty. A permaflight item that doesn't require a long quest to obtain, isn't timed, and has stats. We already know that you can code items with resistancies. Instead of weighing those down with susceptibilities, weigh them down with rent. Rent we'll have. And equip those with stats. Stats we'll need. Although the same items are open for spellcasters as well, it'll definately be more useful for non-spellcasters. And a final tadbit for snipers... a bow that automatically 'dips' its arro ws with a spell... say weaken, clumsy, blind!, fire, dispel!, etc. With, say, 4-6k rent. And some stats, too :p Lagmonster

From: TheThing Monday, April 17, 08:42PM Blackthorne you took the words out of my mouth why is it the loud whiners make things change for the rest the rest of us? how is it that two or three unbalanced characters can cause the rest of the mud to need a change? and why dont Immortals talk to players when they find ways to abuse the system, is it so much harder to talk to us than make a bunch of new code? -peer Immortals-
