Firstly I'd like to say I have characters of all types and my current
pkiller isn't here to stay so I'm not biased.
I'd like to see the following changes:
The formula for weight limit.. The difference between 100 str
and 30 is just too great, I'm carrying 13 rolls of gauze for first
aid and I'm not near my limit. As dex I didn't even carry a shovel.
I find that alone to be almost reason enough to be str at times.
Flee! I've mentioned before how unfair it is for laggers, we don't
get half the attempts to flee as others but it just doesn't seem
right that you need 80+ dex to flee from a 1 exit room most the time
when it plays such a big part in whether you live or die. There aren't
any such major drawbacks as this with low str or con and it seems
to be just one of those things left over from dex MUD that has yet
to be addressed.
I've also mentioned str weapons in the past but I've done some
experimenting recently, I was 100 str 100 dex 80 perc with a gae-bolg,
2 hernes and a brine.. I hardly ever damcapped while raging on a sitting
or stunned target with 47 hit 41 damroll.
I switched to 100 str 70 dex 50 perc, dumped the brine and got a sss
for 44 dam and a lot less hitroll. I damcap more without raging than
I ever did with the dex weapon and look at the stat difference.
It's just ridiculous how much better str is IMO, I can now first aid
and do a whole lot more damage, I don't even get hit more cos the
mobs aren't around for nearly as long to dish out the damage to me.
Str weapons need to be similar to dex/con in both max dam and +stat!

Something is funky with the str weapons for sure. But really,
forsaken, I would like to see the gae bolg vs a 8kg str weapon.
If this come out the same, then its not in the slash/pierce, but
in weight/max damage alone.
Add in the hitting bonus to hitting on sitting (Bash) and you
get even yuckier.

For sure in mobkill it seems str is overpowering compared to other
weapontypes, but am not so sure if the same is true in pk. Personally
found other weaponry to do more damage esp on the medium weight level.
Personally think it'd be more valid to unify str, dex, and con weapon
skills, having str simply determine the weight of the weapon you can
use as well as damroll, dex determining the likelihood of the weapon
to strike, and have constitution determine the number of attacks,
perhaps.
Or simply allow expert swordsmanship to apply as if one had expert
fencing or arms training... think there's enough to balance without
considering how much a difference each individual item will make.
Unless of course we have a mob that will transform swords into
daggers and clubs, or vice versa :p
