Just that my impression of Limans were those that didn't do anything
particularly well, but had the ability to try out many different
aspects of the game, becoming jack of all trades... now.
So how about letting limans learn and use skills with 90% of the
stat points required for them? Their efficiency of those skills
while they have 90-100% of the requirements should probably either
reflect their low stats or simply considered as having the minimum.
The reason i suggest this is that currently there's really not too
much benefit from being a Liman (not that i see a lot of Klein bonus,
but hey, it's there, i guess). If they got a 10% discount in the
use and learning of skills, a "jack of all trades" from lima will have
more points to move to other areas. Yeah, their surgery still would
stink and they couldn't get expert parry, but a sniper surgeon from
lima will have, compared to a sniper surgeon from london (with bare
minimum stats for the skills) 18 more points of stats to shove it
elsewhere.
Have no idea if this is even feasible coding wise, but personally
think this is something that will work even when the skill trees code
goes in -- so what if they have lower reqs, skill trees should base
things on usage anyway, right? :P

I've been hearing for so long that Limans suck that I just had to see
for myself. (plus for this character I couldn't justify being from anywher

as i was saying, before i went nasty link-dead for the third time in an
hour...
this is my first liman character, and i don't see what all the fuss is
about. This character has levelled faster than any character i have had
in the past, even characters of this same type, from different hometowns
and so far as I can tell, the wealth of available skills is such that at
level 20, I'll have more skills available to me that I actually want than
I'd be able to get by level 50. But, of course, by the time I hit level 05
50, that is, my skills will all be wiped for skilltrees and we'll get to
start again. Whee.

snicker, that doesn't say a thing. i could make a deadeye from agrabah
without any spells and he'd level as fast as any other deadeye, really.
but would it be an effective deadeye once it's made? for the same
stats a london deadeye could get expert parry, while one from agrabah
is stuck with basic.
same thing with limans. given a char type and stats, you can make a
better one just by having it come from london, tara, agrabah, or even
klein, depending on the char. just because you can play the game
with a useless hometown doesn't mean it doesnt have any problems.
