I believe it'd be useful to break down spellbooks into categories or
at least be able to look at sections of them alphabetically by spell
title, particularly for the nebie to magic, particularly for me.
Such as: spellbook d would give me all spells starting with d, or
spellbook pur would give me all spells using that word, or a verbose
listing such as there is with skills: combat spells, protection spells,
necromancy, illusions, and so on...

Spells already are listed alphabetically via 'spellbook', you can
also use 'spellbook d' but it lists all those that contain 'd'
so i'd use 2-3 letters min for that..
You also might wanna try my program which that lets you filter spells
