ok, here goes, I was just thinking about this.
now that there is no spam, I see lima as being a VERY
useless place to start a char.
lets look at the advantages of starting there:
surgery - can do from other towns, much better, with other nice
bonuses.
half druid skills-
LOTUS-EATER...
parry- see surgery.
so, I guess I can flavor if I'm from lima.. but if I
really want a druid, I could use another hometown.. with
what it takes statwise, augment isn't very far off at all.
so, tell me why, anyone. Why start a char in lima,
after the spam change?

me, i personally like not having to run to the lotus eater for
every vial i need... sides, there's make staff for limans... tho
i guess to make best use of it i'll prolly spam for it once in my
lifetime then use it. anyway, it's an item you can't get
otherwise and still be able to use a gun :p
oh yah, i remember now, i remember hearing something about like
optimal weight for parry being something close to the lvl 50 make
staff weight.. add to that the staff is prolly one of the better
weapons in the game, cheap rent, limans getting one more parry
skill than everyone else but londoners... hmmm... time to try
something new, i guess :p

Honestly, would you ever use a make-staff and a gun at the
same time? 100perc is a tough enough stat to rely with
shoot and backstab.. but giving up backstab for a make staff
doesnt seem to make sense. What do you do on all those
stunning shots? headbutt? warcry?
Its no wonder that you NEVER see non-dex snipers. I doubt
that a sniper with a makestaff could be successful.
Actually, Manticore, if anyone could do it, it would be you. I
would like to see it!

figuring you get make staff from non-final eqset (formerly known
as spam eq), it isn't hard to make a char that has sniper stats and
100 con, with reasonable dex.
that shouldn't be surprising, we've had numerous 100/100/80 chars
in the sniping arena... now the question would be if you'd want to
bother drawing back and forth, but that'd be something only experience
would tell... would the extra damage from make staff and extra parry
bonus due to weight worth 4-5k rent from carrying that staff? I personall
y haven't tried parry out yet anywhere above advanced levels (haven't
had a londoner since my very first pker), so i wouldn't know.
But then again, if you were to spam for a non-stat item just for bs,
it might make more sense to equip the char with something like a three
pronged staff, maybe.
And as far as what to do on stunning shots go... you can always keep
shooting :p
And reload :p
